dude you can say whatever you want, everyone knows who you are. You can have all of the opinions you want, just don't pretend to be unbiased when it is very well known who your allegiances are with. cool, John?

Calling Shank worse than Pothead John and CJ Popp totally ruins your credibility! Wow. Shank has worked for some real good feds around the area. He was working some pretty big HWA shows up in Cinci. His matches with Drake Younger were some of the best ive seen in Evansville in years. From now on, Perfect Storms opinion will be taken with a grain of salt from me.

Hey guys I just wanted to say that I live in Evansville and right now is a great time to be a fan. We have 3 great shows running right now and for a fan like me it is great! Sure they all have thier high and low points but every show does. I think everyone should sit back and just enjoy what we all love and that is the wrestling! Hope everyone has a great week!

I've been staying out of this conversation because honestly, the idea of people bickering over which wrestling fed in Evansville is the best or least-"backyard" or whatever is hilarious to me. And then to think that all this started with two companies fighting over running a show in Monroe City (a town who's population is smaller then the crowd that I was in at the ECW Arena for last year's "Cage of Death" show in Philly) it's even more comical to me. But what finally got me to say something is Storm's comment that Shank is worse than CJ and Pothead. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I'm cool with that, but I have to agree with Ike in that your credibility is down the drain to me as well. Sure, Shank isn't the greatest wrestler in the world, but the thing about him is that every time I've seen him work, you can tell that he has a passion for the business and every time I've seen him, he's given it his all. And that's a LOT more then I can say for other workers I've seen work around this area. Both of his matches with Drake Younger in VIP last year were great and I even really enjoyed the match he had with Ryan Drago at one of the MECW shows I attended a few months ago.
As for one company being better than another in Evansville, I really have no preference to any of them. I do like what MECW was doing and if they get things up and running again and bring in the same caliber of talent they brought in in the past, then I'll consider going to another one of their shows. I do sometimes go to CCW shows, if I hear that someone's going to be there that interests me, but I never go to one of their shows expecting to see something great. Then there's NFW....um, well....... But anyway, to me, given the state of the "scene" around here right now, I'm just biding my time until my next trip to Philly.

Do you guys think there is a problem with this board or is there really 9 people viewing this board right now. 108 people within the last 24 hours?? To me, that seems like a technical issue. Those numbers just kind of blow me away.

Ike you are a funny person especially saying that somebody's credibility is shot when you where the one who claimed all of Evansville used the message board. I also find it funny how you say this message board is so great because your free to say what you want but when anybody differs from your opinion then everybody needs to keep quiet not going to happen.
As far as Shank is concerned if he had a great match with Drake Younger I will take your word for it but it is probably because Drake carried him. I have seen him 5 or 6 times now, including the MECW shows and a VIP show . Just because he has worked in bigger shows does not impress me. Hulk Hogan has wrestled in WWE WCW AWA TNA and he sucks .
Cavedweller I have nothing against you nor do I have any thing against Ike. You are right we are all entitled to our own Opinion . You both disagreed with it I am cool with that but it is to funny that my supposed credibility is shot because of that. So lets see if I got this one more time . I am entitled to my own opinion but because you disagree I have know credibility even though you admit Shank is not the greatest wrestler in the world. Thanks for making my point.

I think i clarified my Evansville comments there Storm. I never said this board was great, i must have missed that. I said thats why people come here, because they can post under guest names with no mods. Most of the time its petty arguing between people that work for different feds around Eville. As far as you having your own opinion, yea, you are entitled to that. Doesnt mean i have to agree with it and I dont. When i say your credibility is shot, what i mean is, from now on when you giving thoughts from a show you were at and I was not, i will have to wonder if i would agree with your opinion.

Hulk Hogan has wrestled in WWE WCW AWA TNA and he sucks . You've got to be kidding right? I mean he's crap now, but the man pretty much carried pro wrestling on his back. Now he's terrible even behind the curtain pulling strings, but to say he sucked for the entirety of his career is just taking any credibility you have and destroying it with a nuclear bomb. I'll give you benefit of the doubt and assume you just meant "today" he sucks. Other than that I just wanna say this board is silly. JP I know is at least trained. Trained by several people in fact. He did indeed start training at 15 I think it was, with me and the group when Ian was at CCW. Ian's training includes basically seminars by the likes of BJ Whitmer, CM Punk, Chris Hero (lots of hero), and many many more. It was a great time to train with Ian actually. During what many call the peak of IWA before most of the roster exploded all over the world and moved to WWE/TNA/ROH. Shank I don't know. I remember him hanging out with us at different stuff but I know he was trained by at least Lonestar. The matches of his I've seen are hit and miss. He's definitely got the charisma and character down. The wrestling itself I've seen both good and trainwreck from. It happens though, even to the best of them, but especially with younger/newer guys. I agree with whoever said "backyarder" is thrown around too much. A lot of "trained" wrestlers either haven't had training, or were trained by someone awful who basically stole their money. Also agree that everyone has their own opinions and enjoy different styles. I respect the hell out of Chris Hero and his abilities, but when he wrestles an extremely technical match I get bored quick. Just not my cup of tea. As far as the board, I wouldn't be surprised if it considers me coming to the page 4 times 4 different people. I can't think that too many people actually come here, just the people from the local feds and a few fans On one hand I wish it was login only to post, but on the other hand no one would post if they can't be anonymous except the oboys.

Hogan is nothing with out Vince if not for him Hogan would still be carrying around Bockwinkle's bags. Yes he is one of the most charismatic wrestlers of all times but a great wrestler he only had a handful of moves the boot, leg drop and if you want to count it as one hulking up. Yes he made movies and was in the media spot light but I'll take Ric Flair any day. He could wrestle and did so most of the time 6 days a week for 60 minutes at a time which was probably more like 45 minutes . Flair wrestled against all types of wrestlers where Hogan was limited in who he wrestled. I would loved to see Hogan vs. Steamboat or Bruiser Brodie even Dusty and the list could go on .
I am surprised by those who are so quick to say some body's cred ability is gone because they do not share in the same opinion. I have stood in the shadows just reading the message board and have seen many things I strongly disagree with even to the point that I was angered. Not once did I think some body's cred ability was destroyed because of that, because a week later they may say something I totally agree with.I guess as you get older you realize people do not share the same opinion so what and that whats so fun about a wrestling message board. I know everybody does not like the wrestlers I do and it does not bother me one bit.
I have respect for every one on here because we are wrestling fans and if we saw each other at a show I would probably by you a drink. I would like to thank you all for keeping it civil.
I do want to throw this out what does everybody think about an Independent wrestling program or news letter made up of people on the message board to be sold at the shows. Please give feedback and ideals

Much respect Perfect Storm. Kinda wanted to test and make sure you riding the Hogan train that derailed and they started hating on hogan once he went to TNA. Admittedly he didn't really do many moves, but as a whole I gotta respect Hogan for what he did for the business. Obviously he didn't do it alone, and if he didn't someone else probably would have. I definitely choose flair over hogan too. If you think the charisma isn't a big deal then try to watch wrestling now. No one even compares to the older guys. The Rock and Stone Cold were the last 2 guys for me to generate those special kind of moments that stick in your mind. John Cena is the dullest person in the world to me, but he's shoved down our throats at least 3 times a show, usually in more than one match recently. Undertaker still brings a little nostalgia, but I'm kind ready for him to go away for a while again.
If you wanna do a newsletter I think it'd be cool. I don't think anyone would pay for it or anything though. Unless it's something you want to throw away money on as a hobby I would recommend against it, especially since we can see it all online. Now if you made a local blog or enewsletter, that would be a good idea. No one would have to pay, don't think you'd have much cost involved to do it, and it could get more exposure than just at the shows.

Thanks Mike, this is what I meant about how you can disagree with somebody on here and then be in total agreement with them as I am with your post now.
You made great points on the news letter. the only reason I said it should be sold at shows is because I am a big wrestling program fan and it is sad that some promotions do not do one anymore. It is to me what DVDs of attended shows are to Cavedweller, not that I do not like DVDs have hundreds but it is way to remember those shows.

MECW had a program at the last show I think. I didn't wanna pay for a folded up piece of paper made on microsoft word. I can see where a chunk of fans would collect items like that, I just think it'd be a very small group. My suggestion, for what it's worth and if you do it, would be to do the online part as a primary format. Speak with whatever feds you wanna work with and see if they want to be a part of it or at least allow you to sell them at the show. Print up some not-high-school-kid-doing-a-school-project quality pamphlets for a few shows and make people aware of the online format. If people still want the physical pamphlet they could make arrangements through you and you could always have a few extra for new orders. I think the real tricky part will be getting the feds to provide you the info needed to make an accurate pamphlet ahead of time if you wanna include that days card on it.

Ill agree with Mike on the program thing. I doubt many would buy it. Ive actually kicked around the idea of doing a evansville wrestling blog but i doubt anyone would really care to read it. That and i dont get out to shows nearly as much as i used to and the overall show quality around here is WAY down. Its something i may do in the future if things ever turn around.

Since this thread is called "MECW update", here's an actual update. I found out today that there have been flyers passed out in Vincennes for MECW's Nov. 11th show in Monroe City. The flyer has a huge picture of Jerry Lawler (it didn't say who his opponent's going to be) and it said that there was going to be a handicap match: Chase Stevens vs. Jason Briley and Chris Thomas.
