An unbiased view of the areas promotions: by "It Really Doesn't Matter" ;D
Ok...
CCW: Ya got Jamie Dundee running "Legends" shows - only to work his way out of the crack motel he currently lives in. He's apparently making some decent money @ CCW's expense!
What is this doing for CCW you ask? Not a d**n thing! Jamie stuffs his pockets full of money and him and Brian $hit on the fans of this board and at the shows with their horrible attempt to entertain a crowd with something that didn't even work in the 80's. If it did, then Jamie would have done more than being the "Nation of Domination's" b!tch and Rock and Roll Express can't even get into the WWE Hall of Fame and Road Dogg couldn't stay clean in TNA (which showed at the CCW show by the way).
Ya think ya got something special. Guess what, it's only (barely) working because ya got - what - advertisement!
-----------------
MECW: Looks solid. Will it actually happen though. I've seen a lot of promises come through Evansville and also a lot of liars and disappointment! Can't trash it until I see it!! -----------------
NFW: Seriously? I see mommy Rich is working hard at building the "NFW" friends list on MySpace (for her baby son - Master Rich) ... but they (and CCW) never cared before MECW came into the picture and blew up their friends list. Funny as he!L.
-----------------
VIP: ?? Your guess is as good as mine?!
All in all, I'd say based on NFW's "new" roster pics / graphics?? and their attempt at getting more fans on the internet ....... and CCW's (once a month only) attempt (because god knows the other 3 shows a month go back down to 20 - 30 people every time) .... I'd say promotions in this area (although, half-a$$ed) are trying to make some sort of attempt and (hopefully) when wrestling promotions compete - the fans will win!
Who knows though... Maybe Jamie will be gone after a couple more shows and then CCW will complete its demise .... or MECW will only be a "one hit wonder" .... or Rich will get grounded by mommy or something .... or maybe Walt (who believes in the future of this business) will emerge through and past all the others and be victorious and HUGELY successful.... yea, maybe not! hahaha
------------------
Well, that's my own personal view (with positives and negatives). But that's only one persons opinion (based on what I see around me).

If you check out the centre website, they're so embarrassed of MECW. They don't even put it on the calendar. I called today and they have no knowledge of ticket sales or the show. Blow on those nuts.

Well, when comes to a real good, in ring, wrestling show, Evansville doesnt have one. If you look around the country and check out what major indy feds are doing and what guys are being booked around the US and Japan, Evansville is a joke. However, you cant argue with results. CCW has been drawing around 400 people for the legends show. Someone is making $ and in the end, thats what running a business is. Granted it with a bunch of guys who were in their prime 20 years ago, but obviously fans of Evansville like living in the past. Cant fault Dundee for doing what works.
As for NFW, ive got zero use for them. There is nothing on their show that interest me in the least. A ton of guys who are untrained, others that couldnt wrestle their way out of a wet paper bag and a few "never was" WWE guys. They draw well but i have to wonder how many get a "friends" discount.
MECW hasnt ran yet but have mega evansville starpower in the King and Jarrett. Most of the undercard is lackluster but Evansville wont care about that. They advertise on roberts stadium big board and will sell tickets thru ticketmaster. I doubt the centre would be embarassed to host guys like Lawler and Jarrett. If that were the case they never would have booked MECW to begin with. Until the show starts there is really no reason to hype or hate them. We'll see.
VIP tried to be a mainstream indy fed in a Memphis town. Didnt work. Lack of effort from ownership after the first show was a major reason. You cant run a fed and put zero work in, especially when your in an uphill battle already. VIP is dead. If Walt returns to Evansville it wont be under VIP because that was Lonestars. A similar product could work if legends were mixed in and you put effort into it.
Until someone out draws them, right now, love them or hate them, CCW is the leaders in Evansville.

I'm beyond even caring about pro wrestling in Evansville. I'm going to try to keep up with things on this board and what-not, just on the outside chance that something will come along that I might actually care about, but my hopes aren't very high. Until that happens (if it ever does), I'm going to be planning out my trips for this year to go to as many wrestling shows in other places (and see interesting parts of the country in the process) as possible.

I looked on SMG Evansville's website and MECW is not advertised anywhere that I looked. If someone is stirring crap then prove it by giving us a link. If you can't easily prove that then how can anybody trust that Jerry and Jeff are going to be there also? And to whoever started this thread, how can you call this an unbiased view when you slam every promotion that is running at the moment? Where are the positives that you see? If you say there are none then you really haven't looked hard enough to see them. Ike and the rest of this forum who are some of the local guys that you'd like to see that promoters are leaving out? Has anyone looked to see who Rich has coming in this Saturday? 2 Tuff Tony, Cash Flo, Juggulator, and Rob Conway. The only thing that NFW is really missing is rabid fans to tell them what they want. I'd love nothing more than to hear the O- boys heckle the curtain jerkers into quitting. I miss being at the Coliseum in its Eric Acker days listening to the chants and the fans bantering at each other.

When I blow my nuts all over you and you tell me to stop it and a liar. I'll tell you it's not my child. When you want to talk about facts about wrestling. Joe blows. CCW 4 life.

I know they have two guys from Indy debuting, Indiana Kidd and Hillbilly Jed. Not sure how good they are but I heard that Jed is pushing 400 pounds but tends to be a high flyer. Hope you make it to the show. And if it sucks tell Rich why he tells me he is wanting input on what everyone wants to see within reason.

To be honest, I'm planning on checking out the NFW show on Sat. I'm not going in with the hopes that it's going to be a spectacular show, it's just that there are some names on the card that I've yet to see live, but have been watching on DVDs for years. Names like Cash Flo, Hailey Hatred, 2 Tuff Tony and Juggulator. I've heard of most of the local guys on there, but know little about them, so I figure this will be a chance to see how good (or bad) they actually are too. I also figure that it'll be a chance to see what one of those shows is like, since I've never been to one either.
And yes, Kidd and Jed are good. Jed is probably best known for his feud with Osyris in IPW and he's worked for IWA:MS, even appearing in one of the King of the Deathmatches. The guy's over 400 lbs. and can do moonsaults and flip piledrivers! I might be wrong, but I think I heard once that he was trained by Kickboxer the same time he was training The Naptown Dragons.

Yeah I too was thinking about going to see Hailey Hatred....she is big in Joshi over in Japan...and I dig the h.ell outta that. Ive always been a Cash Flo and Hillbilly Jed mark too Anyhow i guess I'm willing to set thru the bad s.hit to see atleast a few good matches....I don't know though....there is some REALLY bad s.hit on the card. but hey...I'm willing to negotiate... if Rich is really serious about listening to what fans would like to see (within reason of course) between myself, Ike, and Dweller...Im sure we could come up with plenty of decent talent that wouldn't break the bank and would BLOW peoples minds!! If Rich wants to listen and take in our input....I wouldnt mind making the flyers for the shows or graphics for a website.
