While I certainly can't confess to being a fan of Maverick or Blue, it's nice to see JP's name again. It would be nice to see a company running in this area that would give kids trying to break into the business a place to work. Kind of like IWAU is doing up in Olney. That company is really on fire right now.

Cavedweller I agree with you on giving kids a chance to to break into the buisness. The problem seems to be when promotions around here give them a shot they are accused of useing backyarders. We can not have it both ways you half to start some where. What I would like to see is since no wrestling company can start on time. The dead period while waiting for the show to start would be a great time to let some of them wrestle.
I agree with you about IWAU. I checked out the Mt. Vernon show again. They only had 4 matches. and only 13 people show up, but it is not a bad show. I did see advertiseing in a store I stopped in so hopefuly they will grow like the Olney show. I also look forward to checking out the AWF again.

I think what AWF will be doing is similar to IWAU is doing on a little smaller scale. Time will tell how it plays out but if things continue to go as well as it did this past week i could see those kind of shows in their future. Like i said, there are some things on the show that arent great, but its def a good place for the younger guys, that dont have a lot of ringtime, to get some work.

I know what you mean, storm. It's a double-edged sword sometimes. Having some "pre-show" matches is a good idea. IPW in Indianapolis does that and actually, there are some guys that I first saw on their pre-show that are now on the main roster. CZW did that at the show they did in Lafayette, IN last year. Those matches were never put on DVD or used on their website or You Tube account and never saw the light of day, which is a darn shame since they were actually pretty good matches.
Even if what AWF is doing is like a smaller scale version of IWAU, I'd be down with it.

Here are the results to last nights AWF show.....
Venom defeated Valentine by DQ when Jasper Jones interfered by shoving Vemon off the top rope. Jasper and Valentine double teamed Venom for a while before Fury ran out to even the odds. Fury and Venom challenged them to a tag match later in the show.
Victor Kaine defeated Morbid and Section 8 in a Three Way Dance via sit-out power bomb on Morbid.
Jasper Jones/Valentine defeated Fury/Venom after Jasper whacked Fury with a chain behind the ref's back. Afterwards Fury and Venom vowed to get even on May 15th.
1/2 of the AWF Tag Team Champions Billy Hardaway (w/ Scarlett Rose) defeated JP Lightening with a school boy.
Non-Title Main Event: AWF Champion Matt Maverick defeated 1/2 of the AWF Tag Team Champions Death Psi after interference from JP Lightening. After the match JP stated that the AWF Tag Team Championships will be his once his true tag team partner arrives. Its only a matter of time.

Here are the results to Sunday nights AWF show..... EMO vs. Robert Striker *Matched ended quickly with a top rope splash. Striker wins. JP Lightening and Billy Hardaway come out for what appears to be a singles match. Ring announcer Walt asks JP if this tag partner he's been talking about for three weeks now is actually here tonight or has JP just been messing around. JP says that his partner is not here...yet. But he's coming! He's actually on his way right now! He asks Billy where Death Psi is, implying that Death Psi ran into an "accident". Billy says that Death Psi isn't here and he hasn't heard from him in a few days, but Death Psi is a man and can take care of himself. Billy says that if JP wants this tag match though, then he's got a tag partner. At this point Jeff the Ref (the ref in the ring for the singles match) delivers a stunner to JP. Jeff says that JP's been messing with him for two weeks now and he's not gonna take it anymore. Section 8 vs. Tempest *Tempest gets the pinfall victory Jasper Jones vs. Venom (w/ Fury) *Jasper Jones wins cleanly after a superplex. Billy Hardaway/Jeff the Ref vs. Jp Lightening/ *JP reveals Shank Barzini as his partner. JP/Shank pick up the win and deliver a brutal beating to Jeff the Ref after the match. Main Event/None-Title Match Matt Maverick vs. Fury vs. Viktor Kaine *Both Fury and Vik claim to be #1 Contenders for the AWF Championship. Champion Matt Maverick says that if one of them win this three-way dance tonight, then they will rightfully be the #1 Contender and will get an AWF Championship match at the next show on June 5th. If Maverick wins, neither of them get the shot. Viktor picks up the win and the #1 Contender-ship after an F5 on Fury.
