Walt or Solomonking; I have nothing against you but I also do not know you that well. I will say this you did seem to bring in some of the people we would like to see on your VIP shows but like the same thing that has happen with CCW you started getting away from keeping fans from being informed about your shows.
I know we may only invest our time and the price of a ticket where you may be putting in your life savings to run a promotion but keeping fans happy and informed leads us to telling and bringing others which leads to more people and that means more money.
Walt please just do not use the same people CCW and MECW are using it gets hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. Right now MECW looks like CCW in early 2010 with few exception so please bring in younger talent.

No that was a not a ridiculous statement ,except I should have included part of 2009 also. If you look at MECW roster with a few exceptions you will see those same wrestler where in CCW during 2009/2010 . Plus you take the wrestlers who are currently working for both and then you add in the same legends booked by both shows and they mirror one another. I have nothing against either one but like others I would love to see some younger up and coming talent brought in or a better mix on the shows and I believe based on Walt's track record he can do that but he also needs to regain the fans trust from what happen with VIP.

JD Maverick Chase Stevens Tony Kozina Tommy Mercer Metal Master Shank Barzini Rudy Switchblade Donovan Cain Jason Lyte Fireball Roberts How much younger do you want it to get? If you want it younger than that, go watch the kids on a playground wrestle.

Okay 4 of them wrestled with CCW and it is not so much younger that I want it is more variety. If you have seen the same wrestlers used year after year in two local promotions would you not want to see somebody differnt from time to time .

The original statement want that far off actually. Aside from the special attraction guys brought in by MECW, most of the guys used were used in CCW in the Briley days. It only makes sense being that he was callin the shots in CCW then. As for all those guys listed, id like to see them featured a little more on the upcoming MECW shows. Guys like Kozina, Switchblade, Shank and the Hybrids are all more than solid. Guys like Metal Master and Chase are pretty good veteran talents.

To be honest Walt does the Evansville area really need another wrestling promotion? There is currently 3 promotions and at least 2 backyard groups trying to run in the tri state.

To be honest Walt does the Evansville area really need another wrestling promotion? There is currently 3 promotions and at least 2 backyard groups trying to run in the tri state. I think the area could use something different. All the promotions offer much of the same style entertainment. If your a fan of Memphis style wrestling, you have 3 choices. If not, then well, you dont have much. MECW has ran some shows that is more indy style than Memphis but i think they have learned where and what they draw with. Cant argue with trying to make some money. That being said, ive heard the rumors of AWF in Ft Branch being reborn and reloaded with better young talent. I love what IWAU does, in the sense, they use Youtube to pretty much have a internet TV show. They also run free weekly shows, with 1 big show that cost 10 bucks, if im not mistaken. While id never put on shows for free, i think it would be ok to run a 2-3$ weekly or bi weekly show, that built to a bigger $10-$15 show. Try to sale some ad boards for like $10 bucks a show. The main thing though, would be using Youtube to keep the storylines fresh and keep momentum going between shows. You dont need top notch talent to run a nice little small time fed.

I've been following this thread, mostly so I could kind of see what other's thought before throwing my opinion (which only appeals to a minority around here) out there. But, I have to say that Ike really hit the nail on the head. I agree that 3 companies running in the Evansville area is almost too much, however, right now, there's really not a whole lot of difference between the three of them. For me, MECW is about the closest to being something that interests me because of them using guys like Kozina, Shank, Switchblade, and The Hybrids. But even at that, the show they have coming up is way too much like one of the CCW Legends shows from last year for my tastes. And yeah, I checked out a couple of those shows (mostly because I've always been a Jerry Lynn fan) but it's certainly not something I'd want to see at every show....and no, I'm not bashing MECW...I'm not going down THAT road again.
Like Ike said, I think there is some room for a company to run shows that aren't Memphis-style, just as long as they are kept on a very small scale, without the hopes of drawing huge crowds. Like Ike said, though I don't know all that much about them, that IWAU company that's running in Olney seems to be on the right track with doing what they do. From what I've gathered about them, they're free shows are used as a chance for trainees to get some in-ring time and then, they use those shows and You Tube as a way to build to their "bigger" shows where they bring in "bigger" names, like Cabana, Richards and Gargano. I don't profess to being knowledgeable about the money side of the wrestling business and while free shows I'm sure would not be feasible, cheaper shows leading to somewhat bigger shows might be a nice way to build a company or at the least, see if there is any interest to keep it going.
