I wasn't planning on going to either of these shows, but since the people in charge of the local wrestling companies here in town seem to what to keep the fans in the dark about everything, I thought I'd go ahead and give everyone a head's up on this bit of info. Over on MECW's site, they're now listing the main event for Thursday's show in Monroe City as being Tracy Smothers vs. Brian Christopher. I did a bit more searching and found some info as to what's up with Jerry Lawler:
- Jerry Lawler missed Raw because he has an infection after getting a knee injury, and it prevented him from flying to the UK.
So, I'm sure he's not going to be at the CCW Legends show on Wed. either.

Correct, Jerry Lawler WILL NOT be at the Coliseum this week either.

That is correct. Things have been a little crazy at MECW. Jerry Lawler did cancel his appearance at MECW's show November 11th because of said injury. Word is that he has had to cancel all of his upcoming independent dates (including the show in Evansville). He has agreed to make it up to MECW fans either at the end of the year or beginning of next year. We have been lucky enough to feature his son, Brian "Grandmaster Sexay" Christopher in his spot against "Sellout" Smothers. We will also be featuring a special autograph session with Buskwacker Luke. For more information go to mecwpro.com or call the hotline at 323-521-MECW.

The latest report on Jerry Lawler's health is that his left leg is swollen from the knee down to the foot. The cause of the matter is not known, but those close to him believe he has incurred a staph infection. The WWE Hall of Famer's doctor advised him not to attend Raw since it would have been a ten hour flight to England and the change in air pressure could have possibly cause blood clots. What I would like to know is when were the good folks down at CCW gonna announce that their biggest draw in the history of the company wouldn't be attending this weeks show? Or were they even gonna say anything at all.

That was the intention of my original post. The whole "keeping the fans in the dark" thing wasn't meant to be a back-handed burn of MECW, because I figured they (or at least Nic) would say something. I was just wanting to get the word out to anyone who was planning on going to the Coliseum JUST to see Lawler because I figured nothing would be said from that side of the fence.

You called it cavedweller, no mention from the other side of the fence that The King was not going to make it to the Legends show. Actually to go a step further, MECW had posters printed up and told each guest before they walked into the arena that The King would not be there. Cool thing is that not a single person turned away, and we actually got praise for being straightforward and honest with our fans. The icing on the cake being that the crowd not only came to Monroe City in droves, but they were electric from curtain to curtain. Brian Christopher is a class act and we appreciate him for stepping in for The King. We filmed 2 shows worth of television and be sure to check it out this and next Saturday on my44, or if you miss it on mecw.blip.tv. And in closing, not to let the cat out of the bag or anything, but MECW is definitely making it up to the fans that supported us regardless at our January show. Keep your eyes posted to mecwpro.com for more info. I better quit typing before I get myself fired.

CCW had a sign in the lobby and let everyone know before they bought a ticket and they also honored tickets from the tna show that was cancelled which i thought was awsome. Good job to CCW and thanks for giving evansville a place to watch good wrestling my kids love it

Why would anyone do that with a TNA ticket when you can get a refund through ticketmaster? That seems like an unfair trade, a TNA tixket for a CCW ticket, hmmmm.

Jayboro, this may not be as bad as it sounds. I know in my case the price of my TNA tickets where credited back to my credit card which means I still had the TNA tickets and could have traded those in for the CCW tickets, and had CCW pay me $15.00 to watch their show. I will be honest not sure how it worked if you payed cash at one of the ticket master locations if they took your tickets or not if so then it would have been wiser for those people to have gotten their money and not made the trade.
One other thing I would like to say is that CCW has a problem of when somebody gets a ring side seat , those who do not, think they can come stand in front of people who do.I would like to say CCW security staff did a good job of preventing this for the most part. We had one lady who kept trying to stand in front of a group of people in wheelchairs and if I new her name I would out her.I hope Karma is a you know what in this ladies life.

That's pretty cool of CCW to honor TNA tickets, and to let people know about Lawler's cancellation. Good job guys!
