We have some great talent in this area that Evansville wrestling seems to have no clue about. Im online this morning and i see great shows all around the midwest but in Evansville were stuck with so called legends that are WAY passed their prime or guys that are so untrained they arent even qualified to be backyarders. I see am HWA show in Peoria tonight just plain loaded with talent. Now back before my married with children day id hop in the car and my rear end would be there front and center! Heres the card... John Moxley(one of the hottest indy guys today, new CZW champ) v Davey Richards(IMO, the next ROH champion)
American Kickoxer(CCW legend) v Tarek the Great
jesse emerson v Tony "the man" Kozina
the hybrids v Zero G(please someone around here book these guys)
Drake Younger v Nick Brubaker (see my advice for zero g)
OMG v Shane Holister
Could someone that books wrestling shows around here please do some homework and book these guys. Just some of them. If i had the resources CCW had id at least sprinkle 3-4 of these guys into the shows. Sometimes i wish i had a money backer to help me out. Evansville needs a better mix of the past and future. Keep your Jamie Dundees, Mitch Riders, Bill Dundees, Tracy Smothers, Vic the Brusiers, etc but instead of your Matt Mavericks, Cj Popps, Tempests, etc....use some of these guys!!

I'm with you 4550%, Ike! I really wanted to make the trip for that HWA Peoria show, but I would have had to cancel work and I'm already planning to do that more than I probably should. Every single person on that show is on my "enjoy watching" list. Zero G is a team to watch on the indy scene right now. They just worked their second CZW show in Philly last week. Their first match back in Nov. didn't go over with the crowd too well, but apparently, they really impressed the tough Philly crowd last week. Brubaker was one of my favorite guys I had never heard of before he worked in VIP last year. That match with him against Drake would be something to see.
As for Moxley vs Richards, talk about a dream match! They're having a match against each other in IWA:MS in Litchfeild, IL on Tuesday and I'm planning on going, since I don't work on Tues. That match isn't even the main event for that show! The main event is a three-way match: Jimmy Jacobs vs Tyler Black vs Necro Butcher! Just in those two matches, you've got the new CZW champ (Moxley), the new ROH champ (Black) and the guy who's sure to be the ROH champ someday soon (Richards). On top of all that, there's a Sami Callihan vs Sal Thomaselli match and Tony Kozina vs Shane Hollister.
I know that a show with nothing but these guys would never go over here in Evansville. But, I'd sit through a 30 minute iron man match between Brian Christopher and Jamie Dundee if the rest of the card featured at least some of them.

IWA MS seems to slowly be making its way back! that is a great card they have set up for Tuesday and also a good show scheduled for their return to Indiana, even though its the Northern part of Indiana in Warsaw. I hope IWA MS can build momentum in 2010 and hopefully make a return to Southern Indiana someday.

Well, here I am at home, instead of Litchfeild. The IWA:MS show got canceled at the last moment. They say it's because Ian is in the hospital. From what I understand, back in the old days of IWA:MS, Ian pulled the plug on a lot of shows at the last moment and that's part of what killed things for him in the Louisville area. So in a way, I'm not surprised by this move. I'm just glad I found out before I drove 3 hours for nothing. That show Ian's got planned for Warsaw this weekend looks stacked, but I won't be able to make the trip for that one. However, I did get a bit of uplifting midwest indy wrestling news. As some may know, CZW is running a show in Indianapolis next month. Here's the first bit of news from them about the show...check out the first match signed for it....Bandido and Azreial vs ZERO G!!! <<<CZW proudly presents: "WELCOME TO NAPTOWN" The Indianapolis Debut! Saturday, March 27th, 2010 - 7:00PM The CZW Arena in Indy 7141 East 46th Street Indianapolis, IN 46226 For Tickets and more info: www.czwrestling.com 2/22 - Matches and talent announced for CZW's INDIANAPOLIS debut! As we close in on our exciting midwest debut, CZW management has begun preperations for March 27th's huge CZW premier in the home of the Naptown Dragons... INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana! The aptly titled "Welcome to Naptown" event will take place in the exclusive CZW Midwest Arena, and according to all early indications, the show appears primed to be the Ultraviolent splash that many fans in the region have been requesting for years. CZW officials are in intense negotiations to make sure this event is not only a success, but also to create a new midwest base to call home for the Combat Zone as operations expand in 2010. With just over a month to go before the huge debut, CZWrestling.com has learned of the first match, and a brief talent list for the March 27th event. As announced previously on CZWrestling.com, BANDIDO and AZRIEAL will return to tag-team action on March 27th, as they face off against the impressive 'ZERO GRAVITY' in a loaded tag-team rematch. In addition, the following talent has been confirmed for "WELCOME TO NAPTOWN"... Confirmed to appear: NICK F'N GAGE "Naptown's own" DRAKE YOUNGER "Naptown's own" SCOTTY VORTEKZ CZW Jr. Champion "THE BLK JEEZ" SABIAN DANNY HAVOC B-BOY DEVON "Scumbag" MOORE DREW BLOOD JC BAILEY ADAM COLE WIRED Champion TYLER VERITAS EGO FANTASTICO and much more to be announced soon on CZWrestling.com! - Head over to CZWrestling.com now for exclusive videos messages from the CZW locker room, announcements, and more matches and news regarding the lineup in the build to CZW's March 13 return to South Philly, and March 27th debut in Indianapolis! www.czwrestling.com www.smartmarkvideo.com/CZW-DVD www.hybrident.tv/CZW www.youtube.com/czwnews www.twitter.com/combatzone www.myspace.com/czwrestling >>> I saw Bandido and Azreial at Cage of Death back in Dec. and a match between them and Zero G should be a high-flyin' good time! My guess too is that Sami Callihan and Jon Moxley will be added to that list of talent, especially since Moxley is the champ now. I'm also hoping for Necro Butcher and Eddie Kingston to be added to the list as well, since they're both working for CZW again these days, unless they're working ROH that night. Of the guys listed there too, Adam Cole is a very impressive young talent. He's the guy who had that awesome match with Kyle O'Reilly on the second Dragon Gate PPV. His match with Varitas at COD was awesome too. Anyway, I just wanted to post some info on that in case anyone wants to make the trip for what should be a really good show.

Awesome, Ike! You can order tickets on CZW's web site. Front row tickets are just $15....if you order tickets, get them for the South section, I hear that's were all the cool people are going to be...or well, at least one not-so-cool person from Evansville who already has his front row ticket for that section.
I did find out that Necro has ROH that day AND Moxley's working for Dragon Gate so they're off the list of hopefuls for the show. The show should still be awesome though. Of the talent listed, I'm kind of hoping for a JC Bailey vs Danny Havoc match. Also, a Sabian vs Adam Cole match for the Jr. title would be pretty nice. I just really hope they have a good enough turn out that they can keep running shows in Indy.

Yeah, so far we got 3 on the bandwagon. We'll all sit together so we can represent in Naptown. Sux that Moxley is off. I wanted to see him in person. I havent seen Necro is ages so that kind of sucks too. However, im a Bboy mark, so im excited to see him again. Zero G was fantastic in VIP so im excited to see them again. I also havent seen Devon Moore in a while. I think him vs JC would rock. However, im with you JC v Havoc would too. In the end, it looks great!
As for IWA MS.....how the mighty have fallen! Its a shame that its a shell of its former self. Seems like more shows they run fall apart rather than actually happen. When they used to run in Highland thier shows were second to none. Now they are more like a joke. I always respected Ian for putting on such great shows for the fans. Now days it just seems like a joke. Thats a shame to say, because of all of the guys he brought up and the history IWA has. I mean everyone from Punk, Cabana, Hero, Shelly, Jaccobs really broke out in IWA. In the end, i think they should either try having like 1 show a month or just hang it up for good. They are spoiling their legacy!

Yeah, it's so sad what IWA:MS has become. I had been following the news about all the shows they had planned this week and thought MAYBE there would be a chance that something good was about to happen, but with the two canceled shows, I'm not so sure now. And really, the reason I was going to try to go to the Litchfield show (other than the two main matches looking awesome) was because I had been planning to go to the last IPW show (because of all the Chikara guys they had booked), but that show got canceled because of the snow. So, since my last Philly trip for Cage of Death, the only wrestling shows I've been to are those three CCW shows....and I'm not so sure those even count. Ha ha!!
As for the CZW show, a Devon Moore vs JC match would be great, especially if they make it some kind of a scaffold match. My favorite kind of Moore matches are any in which he can jump off of high things. The scaffold match he did with Yuko Miyamoto at Masters of Pain back in Nov. was awesome, one of my favorite matches from that show! Over on the IPW message board, someone using the name "czwrestling" (so I guess it's someone from the company) is promoting the show and on their "scheduled to appear" list, they have Greg Excellent, Brain Damage and Masada added the list, so I'm not sure if those names are official or not.

There's a new match that's been announced for the CZW in Indianapolis show...and it's a big one:
Drake Younger vs Masada
This match was on my "I'd love to see" list last year. It almost happened at two of the shows I attended, once at IWA:DS Carnage Cup and then again at IWA:EC Masters of Pain, but Masada ended up not making it to either of those shows. This should be an extremely brutal, stiff match.

According to JC Bailey's My Space page, his match at the CZW show in Indy is going to be:
Cult Fiction (JC Bailey and Brain Damage) w/manager "Halfbreed" Billy Gram Vs. Danny Havoc and Scotty Vortekz in a 200 Lightube Deathmatch
This isn't an officially announced match yet, but I must admit that my inner bloodmark is doing somersaults of joy right now!

Here's a little update on the CZW in Indy show...first of all, the Cult Fiction (JC and Brain Damage) vs. Havoc/Vortekz match is official. Second of all, two new matches have been announced:
B-Boy vs Ego Fantastico
CZW Jr. Heavyweight title match: Sabian vs "Quick" Carter Gray
Gray retired last Summer because (as I heard), he started some kind of a business in Indianapolis, so I'm not sure if this is a full-on return to wrestling or just a one time thing. Either way, a match between him and Sabian should be another high-flyin' good time. B-Boy vs Ego should be great too. They're two of my favorites on the indy scene. I saw them both in a 4-way match at Cage of Death, which was one of my favorite matches that night.
