I am pissed that I am even responding to this, now I am wasting my time and energy on a message board when I should be focusing it in the gym or a ring. I have wrestled all over the world for 11 years now, and do you honestly think I have never been thingyed out of money? Of course I have, but you know what I did, I never went back to those promotions again. When you jump on here and start bashing them you are giving the free press. And like I said to the FANS, you paid for your tickets, you have every right to like who you want to like and nuts on who and what you want to nuts on. My main gripe is with workers posing as fans to bash other fans and people because of a personal issue. You are wasting your time, do you think that these "guys" (every locker room has them) are going to change their ways because someone is nutsting on them over a message board.... NO! So just focus on yourself, think of ways that you can get better and let the people you have problems with shoot themselves in the foot. If you feel the need to further this debate, here is my myspace we can discuss it there. www.myspace.com/rudyswitchblade

I am not a CCW loyalist and often tell them they need to bring in better talent, but they have never done me wrong personally, so by that we are in good standings. So... which is it? Not loyal or Diehard CCW fan??

Hi everybody, I go to school still and I want to be a wrestler. Last nights show was so exciting for me. It got me to be honest about myself and I realize I love guy wrestling. Does anybody know who I can talk to about learning to be a wrestler. Is all people that wrestle gay too. I really hope I can make a career of this. Seems the only sport that it is allowed. I looked it up on the computer at school today and said most wwe stars are gay. Any information that would help me for career day would help. By the way does wrestlers make a lot of money?

Gay wrestler wanna be guy, I would say that CCW is the right place for you. But to answer your questions, no not all wrestlers are gay , no there is little money in it on an independent level, and if CCW doesn't want you then go talk to Pothead John and Jason Briley at MECW they will help you.

why do you keep saying Pothead John is in charge of MECW? I know some people who ARE with MECW, and have never once heard that john has anything to do with it. I think you have fed some bogus information for someone else's entertainment.

Ok, I wasn't really going to say anything unless there was talk about the show on here and this morning I was checking the board and there was nothing. Now tonight, wow...we've got ourselves quite a little discussion going on.
I was at the show last night too, but here's how the events led up to me spending my money to go. I checked out my first CCW show two weeks ago because I wanted to see JC Bailey, since I have seen many of his matches on DVD, but never seen him live (other than his run-in at Cage of Death in Philly). I went and while I can't say it was the best wrestling show I'd ever been to, it wasn't as bad as I expected. It was said after his match that he was going to be back the next week, so I figured, "What the hell....I'll go see him again next week." So, I went to last week's show but unfortunately, JC didn't make it because of personal issues that haven't been brought up on here, so I won't say anything I shouldn't and say why they said he wasn't there (NO!! He's not in jail again...he worked CZW in Philly on Sat. and is okay!). Anyway, at the show last week, they were selling tickets for the Legends show for $10. I was asked if I wanted to buy one. My first reaction was to say no, but then I figured, "Well, ten bucks to see Jerry Lynn and Madman Pondo? Sure, why not?" So, I bought one. I went to the show after I got home from work and was surprised to see the parking lot full, I was even more surprised to see all the people who were actually there. Honestly, the only other indy wrestling shows I've been to in the last year and a half where there were more people were the CZW shows I went to in Philly...the size of that crowd was even on par with the ones for the ROH shows I went to in Indianapolis! People in Evansville sure do turn out in droves for Memphis guys, that's for sure. MECW is going to fill the Centre to the brim for their show with Lawler and Jarrett, that's for sure.
Anyway, as for the show itself....there were things I enjoyed about it and things that I didn't. And to be perfectly honest, I think there was more that I didn't enjoy then things that I did. As I've said on here several times, I used to go to USWA shows when I was a kid. Between the years of about 1984 and 1989, I spent literally every single Wed. night in the coliseum and honestly, if the show I saw last night had been run during that time period, I would have thought it was the most awesome thing ever. So, I have respect for the legends and what they did to pave the way for others, but as I've said before, I've moved on from those days and don't have any desire to re-live them, especially when there's so much other talent in the indy wrestling world that's far more interesting to watch. That's just my opinion and if someone disagrees with that, then I'm totally cool with it. I'm not trying to be a hater, I'm just throwing out my personal opinions. Here's some thoughts about each match.
Buzz vs. Cody I was happy to see Tracy Smothers before the show and looking forward to some entertaining insanity from him. Sadly, it didn't happen....well, not on an R rated level, so that was a bummer. So-so match. Buzz is better then I would expect for a guy his size.
Bobcat vs. April Well, now I know why April Hunter was never picked up full-time by TNA. Yikes, this was a horrible match.
Wolfie vs LT I gotta say that as far as local talent goes, LT isn't the worst I've ever seen. He makes for a decent heel. I didn't expect to see Wolfie D. He looks to be pretty good shape these days. So-so match, nothing special though.
Spellbinder vs Shultz Speaking of guys I didn't expect to see...wow, where did they even find The Spellbinder? I laughed when they said he was a former WWE star....yeah, for ONE match and is now the answer to every "Who was that guy?" question on wrestling web sites! He can still work a match about as good as he could 20 years ago, which isn't saying too much. I liked his entrance though.
Knuckles and Knives vs JD Thunder and Derrick King Don't get me wrong, I really do love tag team wrestling. To me, that was the best part of going to the ROH shows I went to last year, seeing teams like The Briscoe Brothers and The American Wolves. This wasn't that kind of match though. This was pure 1980's Memphis tag team wrestling. All this match needed was a guy with a tennis racket running around the ring and it would have been The Rock and Roll Express vs The Midnight Express. That's what I didn't enjoy about it. It was too much of "Seen it a million times" kind of stuff. That's not exactly a bad thing and as matches like that goes, this one was a good one. It just wasn't really my thing. But that kind of stuff is what fires up a crowd in Evansville, so on that level, the match did what it was suppose to do.
Lynn vs. Snow The biggest reason I went to the show and it delivered. I don't care how old Lynn is getting, he can still work a hell of a match and Al Snow was a great opponent for him. Sure, there were comedy-type spots and all, but overall, both guys worked well and pulled off what I thought was the best match of the night. I'll even admit that I had to mark out for the cradle piledriver!
Six man tag Well, for the start it was obvious why the younger guy was teaming with Dutch and Dundee. At least it wasn't a long match, that's about all I can say.
Christopher vs. White Man, was Brian Christopher over or what? Jeeze...you'd think friggin' Hogan had walked through that curtain! I know people in Evansville enjoy these kind of matches, but honestly I was bored stupid during it. WAAYYYYYY too much stalling for my taste. Let's just say I was glad when it was over.
Ryder vs Dundee Well, after seeing this match now for three weeks in a row, it didn't get any better. I'd still love to see Mitch Ryder work a match like he did in Chikara a few years ago, but against someone like Dundee, that's not going to happen.
Pondo vs Fear I'm guessing they rushed this match since it was getting close to 11PM by this time. Either that or maybe they were told to keep it tame because of the kids and the people who aren't used to seeing blood and gut matches. A MAJOR letdown for the cavedwellin' blood mark that I am. Oh well! Pondo's going to be facing JC Bailey next month at his next IWA:East Coast show and I plan to be there....course, I'm going more to see Thumbtack Jack vs. Sami Callihan....but, I digress.
Anyway, at least I can say that I've gone to a few CCW shows now and I know more of what it's all about. While I can't say that I plan to go to another one, I will try to keep up with what's going on and if there's anyone I want to see booked for a show, I'll go again.

Im a cavedweller mark. We tried to get over there to say hello but the tables were in the way and we bounced right before the show was over, to beat the crowd. Good review.
