It was freakin crap!! The whole entire show sucked a$$
You could tell the "names" didn't even want to be there.
Complete waste of my money. I decided to give CCW another chance and got taken once again. It will never happen again!
I'd say about 275 ... and I heard from the BO about 150 actually paid. So sad! Somebody had to dip into their pockets on this one lol

Holy $hit
I just read the latest blog on CCW's myspace titled "Getting Paid". Apparently, CCW has a problem with paying their loyal locals that's what I gather from that post. Guess this means they had a hard time making payout hahahaha
Cause you had all those old time dirty cons / USWA has beens workin for ya who just wanted to suck you dry of all your money.
Guess it didn't work out like you thought, huh??
Oh, and take it from someone who was there ------ there was NOT near 400 --- like I said in my above post more like 275. Nothin but cons and liars.

d**nnnnn
I just read it too here it is - quote
"Y is that people come to a company and say i wanna start at the bottom ill do whatever it takes to help out never discuss money or ask for money but when u have a legends show that draws over 400 people they hold there hand out..but hey thats the wrestling business"
I didn't go last night but this $hit right here tells me they passed up paying their loyals to pay some has beens. Glad I didn't go. Feel sorry for whoever got screwed last night

CCW doesn't understand certain things I guess. It is about respect to your wrestlers. Just because they don't "ask" for payout doesn't mean they don't "deserve" payout.
The CCW brass should have enough respect for the guys that do the work that they should WANT to pay them. That has been a problem in CCW for a long time. The people in the front only care about lining their own pockets and don't care enough about the people that do the work for them.
typical ccw.

Let me take this time to clear the air ask anyone who worked the show who paid them their money wasn't CCW it was Mr. Dundee but bash CCW if it makes u feel better.

So what you're saying is this show was not under the CCW banner, so keep CCW out of it? ?? Sure looked like "CCW Legends Showdown" being advertised haha Too funny! Ok, going with that logic, you're choosing to place the blame on a wrestling lol legend - Mr. Dundee? ? It just gets better!! And I thought CCW was about to bounce back and make a change --------------------- WRONG!!! Like I said - I'll never go again!!! BTW, is it true? Is this Brian Acker (Alphamale)??

It was CCW's name on the poster. It was advertised on the radio as a the CCW legends of Wrestling show. That would lead me and everyone else with any common sense to believe it was a CCW show. SO therefore if CCW doesn't want to take the heat for something then they shouldn't put their name on it. Also the CCW myspace page made the blog about payouts. Anyone wo knows anything about ccw knows that no one is gonna run a wrestling show in the coliseum and the ccw people not have their hands in it.

I really can’t believe that I am doing this because I hold myself to a higher degree of professionalism, so if anyone wants to blast me for what I am about to say, feel free I won’t get into an online shouting match with someone behind a computer screen. I feel very privileged to have been a part of the show last night. If you are a TRUE fan and not a former CCW worker, and you did not like the show then I am sorry to hear that. But judging by the reaction of the crowd overall, you seem to be in the minority. Now this may not have been Wrestlemania, and apparently you don’t value what these guys have accomplished or how they have paved the way for future professional wrestlers. But watching Dutch Mantell crack his whip in the back, I couldn’t help but get that since of nostalgia that brought me back to my childhood. And I think that a lot of other people were thinking the same thing as well, hence the attendance. Which I didn’t count heads but I guess you did, but I know the floor was filled up with bleachers, and the top had people scattered throughout as well. I am not a CCW loyalist and often tell them they need to bring in better talent, but they have never done me wrong personally, so by that we are in good standings. Once again if you really are a fan (which I don’t think you are), and do not like the show, why not try to send them some constructive criticism versus negative energy. They cannot give you what you want, if you do not tell them. And if you ARE a worker/promoter, you need to quit wasting your energy worrying about what everyone else is doing and focus more on how to make you/ your product better. There is WAY TO MANY guys out there who are weekend warriors, who want to play wrestler and just half ass it. So before you go on a tangent about what everyone else is doing wrong, take a look into the mirror and ask if you are doing everything you can to better yourself.

I was there last night with a buddy, I gotta be honest, I thought it was a pretty d**n good show and I'm sure I'll be at their next Legends show which they announced for March 3.
I could really care less about the drama that follows CCW around, I'll pregnant dog when they have a bad show, and I'll give them props when I enjoy something.
This show had everything that I love about Indy wrestling on it.
I would guess around 300 in the building and a nice hot crowd for a change. I think Flash was the only guy advertised that didn't show up.
Okay, my review (forgive me if I get some names wrong):
Buzz Dupp defeated Cody Ray Strong w/ Tracy Smothers Smothers heeled it up on the mic before, during and after the match. Match was pretty average but Dupp's splash off the top is is impressive. Good, entertaining opener.
Bobcat defeated April Hunter Neither are good in the ring but they are nice to look at, which I'm sure was the point.
Wolfie D defeated LT Faulk I thought Wolfie was dead. True story. Pretty average match.
Spellbinder defeated Shawn Shultz Spellbinder has an interesting and entertaining gimmick. He's a big hoss with good power moves. This was pretty fun to watch though it was largely a squash match.
Knuckles and Knives defeated JD Thunder and Derrick King w/Tracy Smothers Probably the match of the night. Knuckles and Knives do good work and have a nice team finisher.
Jerry Lynn defeated Al Snow They worked a pretty enjoyable comedy match that the crowd was very into. No complaints from me. Snow sold the Cradle Piledriver for about 10 minutes which was amusing.
Brian Christopher defeated Kevin White w/ Su Young Brian Christopher was over as a mad man. By far the biggest pop of the night. Though he has not aged well at all. Su Young is an entertaining valet.
Six Man Tag featuring Bill Dundee and Dutch Mantell Didn't see much of this, though Jamie Dundee turned heel on his father before it started.
Jamie Dundee defeated Mitch Ryder to win the CCW title. dundee worked as the heel, threw powder in mitch's face among other heelish antics to get the win in a short match.
Allister Fear defeated Mad Man Pondo Pretty tame match, which is fine by me as Im not into Garbage wrestling.
Nothing outstanding on the show, work rate wise, but it was an entertaining Memphis style show. I rather enjoyed it as nothing dragged and the show had a fairly fast pace.

I, myself, AM a wrestling fan! I've never wrestled a match a day in my life. I can't speak for the other "guests" on this board.
I do find it funny that you think you have all the answers (if it really is Rudy Switchblade). I have actually been a fan of your work ------------------ until now!!
Apparently, you are just ONE of MANY who haven't been screwed by the fine people of CCW YET!!
I personally know guys who have busted their a$$es for those jokes down there at "CCW" and have gotten themselves royally SCREWED!!
DON'T speak on behalf of a bogus wrestling promotion (CCW) just because you haven't been screwed yet. Leave us fans (and my friends who have been screwed over) alone and let us voice our opinion (based on experience with these fools).
As a fan, I WAS there last night and WILL NOT EVER go back. Don't defend a bunch of no-talent con-artists until you have all the facts.
Good for you ---- that they are too intimidated to have screwed you over by now. But, they did screw my friend over and that's my opinion I will NEVER take back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rudy, you are a good worker and it looks like you are loyal as well. Nothing wrong with that at all. However saying that the people on here that didn't like the show weren't there and aren't even really fans is kind of absurd. You don't know any of that to be true. I fear you are listening to what you are being told by someone else. Believe it or not CCW used to be really good week after week and didn't need washed up has beens on a card to draw a crowd. I am a wrestling fan first CCW fan second.
of the people posting in this thread I haven't seen anyone who is a promoter of any other show. I know who most of these people are. so Im not sure where that is coming from but it makes you look arrogant to assume that no one really disliked the show, it is just people bashing CCW.
I hope CCW learns that putting old guys in the ring against each other doesn't do anything for your product. and pretty soon people will catch in that you are just trying to make a buck off of their childhood. Do something for the town, do something for the product, do something for the business. Do something for the fans. ENTERTAIN US. DON'T OFFEND US!!!!

Alright, alright. I was indeed at the show last night. Everyone knows i really dont hold anything back. Im posting this from my phone so im sorry ahead of time for the typos. First off, there was over 300 people in the house last night. I dont know how many paid and i really dont care. I know when i walked in i was amazed. Personally, i think promotersaround here could take some notes. Obviously, getting a radio station involved was a fantastic idea. Im still blown away by the crowd size and im happy to see the building packed like it was last night. While im no fan of Jamie Dundee, you have to tip your cap to him. He really stepped up and brought a bigger crowd to CCW than anyone ever has.
Ok, on to the show. Pure Memphis. Not my thing at all, but i thought it was a good show overall. Rudy Switchblade is one of the best workers on the card IMO, so hes def entitled to his opinion. I enjoyed that tag match, even if Rudy did have to carry the whole thing. Snow v Lynn was of course what i came to see. Had a fantastic ending. The double fake chair shot was something id never seen before and i always mark for the cradle piledriver. Spellbinder still has it. I thought his match was real solid. Brian Christopher stole the show, IMO. I cant believe im actually typing that because im not a fan but theres no question to me that that was the match of the night. The guy he faced and his hot valet really played the perfect bad guys to Brian's good guy. Plus it had a great finish. The show flowed real smooth. No long intermissions and no real clusterfudges in the ring, like CJ Popp. Now on to some of the things i didnt like. Pondo and Tracy working PG didnt go over for me. I like rated R Tracy and Pondo. The hardcore match was lackluster at best. I wanted to see them freak those people out! Also, i didnt like how CCW didnt take advantage of that big crowd to build something for the regular weekly shows. Sure u have mitch and dundee but thats the only mention of the weekly shows. All in all, i thought it was a good show.
Why do people concern themselves with bqckatage BS?? Who cares who got paid what and so forth? If the show you paid to see gives you your moneys worth then does it matter at all. How does that effect you as a fan? The only thing im concerned with is watching good wrestling. Evansville wrestling politics are about as dramtic as General Hospital. Pipe down people and enjoy the show or stay home. Its that simple.
