So did anyone go to this show? How was it? How did NFW draw at the Metro?

The first part of the show started out slow but finished out strong the last four matches of the show made it worthwhile. They had a good crowd I would say between 200 to 275 ppl, every seat was filled and the bleachers were mostly full. Revery *friendly* persons are on newfocuswrestling.tk

I suppose im just out of touch with what people want to see. Im a defeated man at this point. Not trying to start a big fuss or anything, but i just cant seem to wrap my mind around what people like in NFW? I cant see that many people wanting to see Master Rich and company. The core roster of NFW is made up of mostly backyard type of talent. Throw in some guys that are so old they cant take bumps anymore, Mad Man Pondo and 2 WWE guys that couldnt even get to the midcard and WAM, you have a sellout crowd? Im just blown away by it. I guess maybe the old USWA guys are a HUGE draw in this area. The WWE guys also help with that. I could see Lawler pulling in over 200 easy, but i just cant wrap my mind around the NFW show. There was very little promotion for it as well. Hell, im a wrestling fan and i didnt know Burke was working the show until i heard about it on the VIP board. Congrats to NFW on the draw. Maybe i need to move to NY or NJ. I suppose thats the only chance i have.

The thing is, 200-275 people disagree that its crap. I cant fathom why all those people are drawn to such a show. I understand to an extent that the old people in Evansville want to hang onto their youth by going to see guys like Wildfire or Chris Champion, but gee wiz, these guys are way past broken down. Maybe its the WWE guys? Ive been told by a lot of people around the scene in Evansville that a lot of people dont have to pay to get in the door. Thats not me saying thats the case, because honestly, i have no idea. I do know one thing and thats the NFW is drawing fans to watch them and thats more than the other guy in Eville are doing at this point.

I would like to put my 2 cents worth in about UWF and NFW shows. I attended both shows and there was over 400 at the UWF show in Jasper and around 125 at NFW. I don't know where some of the numbers on here come from. But I am a huge wrestling fan and have no reason to lie.

I was at NFW and I know they had over 175 seats and 3 sets of bleachers. The seats were all full and the bleachers had alot of folks sitting in them. I wasn't at UWF show but I only heard 200 to 250 fans in attendance. And from what I know of the Jasper Armory I'm not sure it will hold 400, but I could be wrong. For what they were charging 200 to 250 was a real good draw.

The numbers are bouncing around everywhere. 125 = major loss of money. 250 = about even money. Thats a big difference in people. I suppose we will never know for sure. As for UWF, i highly doubt there were 400. Justin was there and hes already said between 200-250 people. 400 is almost double that amount. I dont see him being that far off in his round about attendance.

The UWF show last Friday had a great crowd but no way was there 400 people in attendance. 250 was probably a good number and closer to the actual attendance. I did say 200-250 at least maybe more so that figure could be as high as 275 but saying 400 is wrong. However you look at it, at 20 dollar tickets for ringside and 15 dollars for all other tickets UWF did fine for their debut show in Jasper. I heard Lawler got 1500 dollars and I would say Dundee probably gets at least 500 but even taking that into account they still came out well ahead I would think.

From someone who was at UWF, someone who knows the promoter and booker, someone who knows the person doing the money count and head count, there were OVER 300 paid in attendance in Jasper. Huge show and there are more to follow. Next show is June 26th.

Lawler and Dundee will both be back in the area before the year is over. Possibly before the summer is over.
