My work schedule has been kicking my a ss lately so i havent made it out to Carmi to any of the shows, but having guys like Kozina, Orielly, Richards and Whitmer on your shows doesnt hurt. Throw in some Crist, Shank, Gooch and JP and you have all the makings for the best roster in the midwest IMO.

I agree, Ike. The talent they're bringing in is off-the-charts. I've been to three of these shows now and each one seems to be a bit better than the last. Some of the undercard matches have been a little "hit or miss", so to speak. But, the shows are drawing some decent crowds (bigger than I would expect for a town like Carmi) who seem to REALLY enjoy themselves! Right now, I'd say the two best somewhat local places to see shows are S.N.P.W. in Carmi and IWAU in Olney. By the way, if you read this, perfectstorm, save me a seat for this show, if you can. I'll be hauling butt down to Carmi after work and of course, I'm NOT going to miss a chance to stop at one of my newest fav. pizza places before the show!

Cavedweller I would be more than happy to save you a seat but I will be unable to attend this event. I think I will start calling this the Kyle OReily Syndrome. Every time he is on a card I am unable to go thanks Kyle. Hey Stricktlynsane how about leaving a front roll seat open for the Dweller. Cavedweller hope you enjoy the pizza.Eat some pizza for me.

Wow...thanks a LOT for saving me a front row seat!! That's really awesome!!!!!
It's cool, storm. Sorry you can't make it. Maybe next time. Hopefully, you'll get to see O'Reilly in person one of these days. Trust me when I say he's WELL worth it. I've seen him in person several times now and the guy is absolutely awesome...one of the best younger guys in the business right now.
Sorry you can't make it either, Ike. Yeah, there's an awesome pizza place in Carmi that I have to give credit to perfectstorm for telling me about. That place is on par with a place in Brooklyn, on Coney Island, I ate at last Summer.

First of all thank you Donna for providing dweller with a front row seat.
Cavedweller I agree with you that SNW and IWAU are the best two promotions running in the area. One day maybe I will see Kyle wrestle but it does seem 3 or 4 times he has been booked in the area I have missed him.
Ike you are missing out on some great pizza. Second best pizza in Illinois next to the Pizza in Mcleansboro only 26 Miles from Carmi.
Awful sad we half to drive to Illinois to see quality wrestling shows and eat quality pizza. Really is there a good pizza place in Indiana with maybe the exception of Sandy's and Jacks up in Indy.

I'll post results tomorrow morning, but I just wanted to say a quick thank you to SNPW for hooking me up with a front row seat tonight. This was my third SNPW show and while I still think the Richards vs. Whitmer match from the last show I attended was the best single match, tonight's show as a whole was, by far, the best one yet. The only downside from tonight was Davey Richards wasn't there...but, who did make it (namely, the Kozina/O'Reilly match!) MORE then made up for it!

Here's what went down:
The show started off with the WKDQ DJ guy coming out and saying that his name is "Brad Bacon" now, for some reason and he did an interview segment with Clayton Cosby. He ended up trying to attack Cosby but BJ Whitmer ran in and made the save.
Jake Capone vs. Reaper This match wasn't quite as bad as the first time I saw these two guys in a match against each other....but, that's really not saying much about this match either. At least this time, they didn't seem as timid to hit each other and both guys did get in some stiff shots. In the end, Reaper got the win with a jumping DDT move. After the match, Capone got on the mic and said at the next show, he wanted a match in which if Reaper lost, he'd lose his mask and if he lost, he'd put a mask on....for some reason.
Juicy Jimmy Feltcher (w/ Mr. Wayne) vs. Guido "Ball Buster" Andretti Jimmy came out first and did his usual promos and the crowd, as always, ate it up. Then, "Big Balls" by AC/DC played over the P.A. My first thought was, "Ball Mahoney??" Once Guido came out from the door, I was WISHING it had been Balls Mahoney! It's kinda sad when Jimmy is in a match and he's the one that shows the most talent! Which is not to say that he's not decent, it's just that Guido was his usual, sloppy self. The match certainly wasn't pretty. They had some kind of rule in which low blows were legal and Jimmy then said he was wearing a steel cup. During the match, Guido low-blowed Jimmy and he no-sold it and then hit Guido with a powerbomb and pinned him. After the match, Jimmy stripped....oh joy!
Scott Champion vs. Madman Pondo (W/ Crazy Mary) I'm not sure who this Champion guy is, but he cut a promo saying that he'd once worked a match against Kurt Angle and that he wasn't going to do a hardcore match with Pondo. So, Pondo said that he'd play his game and low and behold, Pondo was going to work a straight match....and oh man, that wasn't a pretty sight! Throughout the match, Pondo would try to pick up his stop sign, but Champion would get away from him. Champion then pulled out a spike-looking thing from his tights and hit Pondo in the throat and pinned him. Pondo then challenged him to a no DQ match at the next show.
Shank Barzini vs. Troy Marcum I had never seen this Marcum guy before. He was a sort of short, stocky guy. Shank was his usual, awesome self and both guys seemed to work really well together. The match was full of stiff shots and lots of back and forth action. There were several near falls. Both guys pulled of some really great moves but in the end, Shank hit him with a nasty Death Valley Driver for the pin. Really good match!!
King Fale vs. Lonestar I did some research on this Fale guy and found out that he is a former rugby player who only got into pro wrestling a couple of years ago and mostly works for New Japan Pro Wrestling. He kinda looks like a cross between The Rock and Kamala (God bless Kamala, by the way....for those that don't know, he recently lost one of his legs due to diabetes and the word is there's a chance he might lose the other one too!). Anyway, that's what I found out about Fale. The match was decent and it was kinda nice to see Lonestar working a match with someone in which both guys could work really stiff. And they got some wickedly stiff shots on each other too. The end of the match was a little weird. Fale hit 'Star with a very stiff clothesline and the back of 'Star's head hit the mat REALLY, REALLY hard. Fale pinned him and it looked as though 'Star was suppose to kick out, but couldn't. After the match, the ref was checking 'Star for a concussion. He was loopy, that's for sure. 'Star then got up and staggered to the back.
Tony Kozina vs. Kyle O'Reilly This match was one of the reasons I made the trip to the show...and OH MAN, did it deliver!!! There was no "heel/face" silliness in this one, just two amazing workers working great match! It was actually a "student vs. teacher" match and that was pretty obvious by the fact that both guys were matching each other move-for-move. Kozina proved, as always, that he's still "da man" and was pulling off all kinds of quick, snappy moves. And O'Reilly looked like a million bucks and showed why he's one of the best young talents in the entire business! In the end, they were doing this sequence of quick moves while running the ropes and Kozina ended up rolling O'Reilly up for a quick pin and the win. AWESOME MATCH!!!!!
Lennox Norris vs. Mike Dean This match seemed to be the by-product of the fact that Davey Richards didn't make the show and they had to re-arrange the card. Surprisingly though, this match was decent. I think I have seen Norris before, but I'm not sure about Dean. I'll say this much, both guys worked really stiff and Dean's body was literally beat red by the end of the match. The match ended with Norris hitting a weird-looking jumping neckbreaker move and getting the pin.
Kaige Kuttler & Derek Neal (w/Mr. Wayne) vs. Alex Colon & Dave Crist (w/ Clayton Cosby & Samantha) It was a bit surreal to see Colon since I've seen him working CZW shows so often. It was even more surreal to see him working as a face. I believe this might have been my first time seeing Neal in person, but I've seen a few of his matches here and there before. As I've said before, the biggest problem with matches that feature guys known for their high-flying such as Colon and Crist is the low ceiling. However, Crist seems to have mastered the art of working the crowd. It seems as though his matches in SNPW are borderline comedy matches....at least at the start. Once the match got going, all four guys (including Kuttler) actually worked fairly well together. Kuttler and Neal spent most of the match working over Crist and Colon was trying to get the hot tag. Of course too, Mr. Wayne did his usual stuff and the whole thing was pretty much your typical, southern-style tag match....only with much more interesting moves. Once Colon got the hot tag, the match was really kicked into overdrive and things were happening so fast that it was hard to keep up. Colon and Crist both did big dives through the ropes and all four guys landed in some people's laps in the front row on the other side. They then were all brawling around the ring and at some point, Mr. Wayne hit Crist with his cane. Kuttler then rolled him back in and pinned him. As I said, it was your typical, southern-style tag match, but as matches like that go, this one wasn't too bad. As I've said before too, while Alex Colon certainly isn't the best in the business, he's gotten better and better over the years that I've been going to CZW shows. So, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing him brought back in.
SNPW Title Match BJ Whitmer (c) (W/Clayton Cosby) vs. Micas Silva (W/ Brad Bacon & Mr. My Name(?)) I'm not sure who Silva's manager was but it sounded as though he said, "My name is Mr. My Name!" He was a tiny little guy who sorta looked like a pimp or something. I had high hopes for this match since you've got one of the best local talents mixing it up with one of the best talents in the entire business. The match didn't disappoint, however, I think one of the things that sorta hurt the flow of the match was the constant goings on between all of the people on the outside. This wasn't exactly a bad thing, BUT it did seem as though most of the crowd was more interested in that then in the actual match, which was sad because both guys were working really well together. BJ looked like a million bucks, as he always does and Silva really was showing why he's one of the best in the local area. In the end, Bacon and Mr. Whatever His Name Was ended up getting taken out of the match and BJ hit Silva with a "Perfect" (pun intended) Fisherman's Suplex (see....I can be "old school"!! HA HA!!) and got the pin. After the match, Adam Gooch came out and challenged BJ to a title match at the next show.
Main Event Carmi Street Fight Hyzaya & 2 Tuff Tony vs. JP Lightning & Adam Gooch (w/ Scarlett) I knew this match was being billed as a "street fight" but considering the fact that Pondo wasn't in it, I wasn't quite ready for what was about to happen. The "special ref" for the match was suppose to be Jamie Dundee but since he wasn't there (or was passed out drunk in a gutter somewhere....that's NOT a fact, just my guess!!) they announced that the ref was going to be "Crazy" Mary Dobson. The match started off with Gooch pretending to call Hyzaya's mother and telling her that Hyzaya was about to get put in the hospital. Hyzaya then hit the ring and the fight was ON!!!!!! Right at the beginning, I ended up with JP in my lap....HA HA!!! Hyzaya and Gooch were stiffly beating the holy Hell out of each other!!! The match turned into a total brawl all over the building. I was mostly following Hyzaya and Gooch, but JP and Tony ended up going outside at one point. When they came back in, Tony had a screen door and set up between two chairs. I then ran over to see the spot that was about to happen. Tony was going to suplex JP onto it, but JP reversed it and ended up suplexing Tony onto it. When he did, one of the chairs went flying and I took it right in my stomach. So, between this and getting my leg cut open from flying glass at the IWA:Deep South Carnage Cup in Alabama this past weekend (that really did happen!), I've taken quite a beating! HA HA!!!!! Honestly though, it was no big deal. I figure it's the risk you take when you want to get close to the action! And to me, that's all part of why I love going to indy shows! Anyway, once the match got back into the ring, the fight continued and at one point, Tony did his tribute to the late Rollin' Hard by lighting his hand on fire and then hitting JP, taking JP out of the match. Somehow Gooch ended up rolling up Tony, but when Dobson went to count the pin, she pretended to hurt her hand counting. Gooch jumped up, grabbed her and hit her with a wicked powerbomb (it wasn't as bad as seeing her go through a bed frame covered in barbed wire and lighttubes at the Carnage Cup though! (Yeah, that really happened too!)). Tony then rolled up Gooch and BJ Whitmer ran in and counted the pin. They then said that there was suppose to be a second guest ref: BJ Whitmer. Kind of an odd ending, but in a match like this, who really cares??? The main thing was that the whole thing was a really fun brawl!
The next show is in two weeks, on April 18th. They've already announced Jake Capone vs. Reaper in that weird mask gimmick match, a no DQ match between Pondo and Champion and a title match between BJ and Gooch for the next show.
This was my third SNPW show and I gotta say that it was, by far, the best one yet....although like I said, I still think the best single match I've seen was the Whitmer vs. Richards match. But the main thing is that SNPW shows are really getting bigger and better each time and as I've also said before, these shows along with the IWAU shows in Olney are about the best "local" shows going in this area right now!
((P.S. Not to rub it in your face, but the pizza before the show was MEGA-Yummy, storm!!!! ;D ))
