I dunno if my work schedule will permit me to make it, but this looks like an awesome show. Davey vs BJ will be something to see. Hats off to the Cosbys for making that match happen.

Here's what went down last night. First of all, the ring announcer for the show was the one younger guy who used to ring announce for CCW. He started the show bringing out the guy from WKDQ, for some reason. He then brought out Adam Gooch who cut a promo. He started off by saying how upset he was about what happened with the tornado in Harrisburg and then turned it around by saying something to the effect that he "wished it had happened to Carmi". This brought out Colt Cabana, Luke Gallows and Cliff Compton to a HUGE crowd reaction. I don't know....I get that Gooch's promo was suppose to set him up as a monster heel, but I think the term "uncomfortable, cheap heat" kind of applies. Oh well...on to the first match:
Royal Rumble-style Battle Royal This match started off with two guys and then another was brought in every 40 sec. A lot of stuff happened and I was trying to write down the names as they came out. I know I'll get some of these wrong. I'll just make a list of who all came out and put what number they were eliminated by their names. 1. Jay Low? (5) 2. Bull Branson (4) 3. "Juicy" Jimmy (16) 4. John Hobgood (1) 5. Reaper (9) 6. Mickie Knuckles (17) 7. Canadian Kid (2) 8. Jake Capone (11) 9. Vulcan (10) 10. Alexis Love (3) 11. Dave Crist (19) 12. Matt Atreya (14) 13. Austin Cage (8) 14. Micus Silva (Winner) 15. Necrosis (12) 16. Gavin Thorston (6) 17. Samantha Heights (7) 18. Mr. Wayne (18) 19. Jay Bly (13) 20. Guido Andretti (15) Probably the biggest thing that came out of all of this was when Andretti came out. They called Guido "Ball-Breaker" Andretti and when he got into the ring, all of the males who were still in the match grabbed their crotches and coward away from him. The last two guys in the match were Dave Crist and Micus Silva. I looked away for a second missed the spot, but Silva fell to the mat and looked to have hurt his knee. The spot really looked legit as Crist was even calling out to Sam Cosby to ask what to do. But Silva then turned on Crist and low-blowed him and then threw him out, winning a shot at BJ Whitmer's title at the next show. The whole match was a bit of a clustered mess, but these kind of matches usually are. For what it was, it was fun and nothing stood out as being too terrible. The swerve ending was a nice touch.
Kaige Kuttler w/Mr.Wayne vs. Dave Crist w/Clayton Cosby & Samantha Heights Kuttler came out first and cut a huge heel promo. Crist then came out and they did some dueling promos, which the crowd really ate up. Once the match got going, Crist pretty much just beat the crap out of Kuttler the whole time. As usual though, with the low ceiling of the room, it drastically cut down what Crist is best at doing....high-flying moves. Mr. Wayne got involved quite a bit in the match. In the end, Wayne got up on the ring to hit Crist with his cane while Kuttler held him, but Crist moved and Wayne hit Kuttler. Crist then rolled him up and pinned him. Nothing fantastic, but it was what it was.
Mickie Knuckles vs. Crazy Mary Dobson Mickie came out with some kind of weird punk rock gimmick thing going on. Dobson....well....um....she obviously can take a good beating. That's really about all the good I can say about her. This match was such a waste of Mickie's talents that it was almost embarrassing. At the end of the match, Mickie headbutted her and someone in the crowd yelled, "That was so fake!" so, Mickie did it again and OH MY GOD....it was nasty! Mickie then dropped her with a wicked German suplex and then pinned her. For some reason, after the match, Matt Atreya and Jay Bly came out and with Mickie, all beat down Dobson more. This obviously brought out Madman Pondo and 2 Tuff Tony who then cut a promo making their match with Atreya and Bly and No DQ match. As I said, the match itself was just a huge waste of Mickie's talents. I really wish they would bring someone in to work with her that can actually bring out the best in her....someone along the lines of Angelus Layne or Serenity from IWAU.
"Juicy" Jimmy w/ Mr. Wayne vs. Lonestar As much as I almost hate to say it, Jimmy worked the crowd really well and believe it or not, didn't look completely horrible in this match. Lonestar looked to have lost a little bit of weight and was decent. The match itself though wasn't much to talk about though. Both guys cut promos on each other but once they got going, worked decently with each other. The ending was kind of odd though. Mr. Wayne distracted the ref and threw Star's cowbell to Jimmy. Star got it away from him and then hit him with it. The ref saw him do it and DQ'ed him. After the match, Star challenged Jimmy to no DQ Texas bullrope match at the next show on March 10th.
Jay Bly & Matt Atreya vs. Madman Pondo & 2 Tuff Tony w/ Crazy Mary This was about what you'd expect....a decent, fun brawl. There were spare car parts used in the match that were provided by a local car parts place who sponsored the show. The brawl quickly went out to the parking lot. Pondo and Tony basically didn't do much more then just beat the snot out of Bly and Atreya. Outside, Tony set Aterya in a chair against the trailer. he then ran at him, jumped sideways and completely squashed him. I think Tony hurt himself more with that spot though. Once they went back inside and back into the ring, Pondo and Tony continued to beat the other two with the spare car parts until Pondo hit Atreya with the stop sign and pinned him. After the match, Pondo got on the mic and put over basically anyone and everyone.
SNPW Title Davey Richards w/Tony Kozina vs. BJ Whitmer (c) w/Clayton Cosby This was the whole reason I went to this show....and this match delivered. Richards came out with his ROH title belt. Richards was working heel and played up to the crowd a bit (and the crowd didn't seem to really have a clue who he is, sadly), but when the match was on, both guys showed why they are two of the very best in the entire business. Richards spent most of the match working on Whitmer's leg and knee. Whitmer sold it like a zillion dollars. At one point, Richards locked Whitmer in this awesome submission hold in which he had his legs tied up and then locked his feet under Whitmer's arms and was pulling them back. The only downside of the match was when Kozina got involved and Clayton stopped him. Kozina then started chasing him around the ring as Richards locked Whitmer in an anklelock. Whitmer then reversed it, rolled up Richards and got a quick pin. I really wish the two of them had been given a bit more time to really put on a long, ROH-ish style match. But, that's just a small complaint to an otherwise awesome match! It goes without saying, but this was the match of the night and this one alone made me feel as though I got my $9 worth!!!
Main Event Colt Cabana, Luke Gallows & Cliff Compton w/ Clayton Cosby & Jamie Dundee vs. Adam Gooch, JP Lightning & Shank Barzini w/Scarlett Rose This match was filmed for Cabana's "Wrestling Road Diaries 2" documentary movie. Gooch's crew came out first. Compton then came out and cut a huge promo about how the match was being filmed and all. Compton sure doesn't look like he did back in his Domino/WWE days. He's a tall, well-built guy with long hair, a nice tan and really white teeth. He then introduced Gallows and Cabana. Gallows was limping really badly. Cabana then got on the mic and cut a promo saying that he had someone who was going to keep Scarlett Rose in check. He then brought out Jamie Dundee. Dundee was obviously drunk off his butt! Ha ha!! Once the match got going.....eh, it was what it was. I won't lie and say it was great, because it wasn't. BUT, the whole point of the match was to film it for Cabana's movie. So, everyone in the match did what they were suppose to do. Gallows really didn't do much since he was obviously hurt. Dundee jumped into the ring several times and did little comedy spots that the crowd really loved. The one thing I noticed the most about this match though was JP and Shank who were really bumping their butts off. I hope that if nothing else, this match is in Cabana's movie and JP and Shank get some kind of a rub from it because Lord knows that both of them have been busting their butts for a while now and as I've said many times before, are two of the best local talents around here. Once Gooch got tagged into the match, the crowd was molten hot to see him get his butt kicked. And he did too! At one point, he had his entire pants pulled down. I don't know what it is about Gooch having his pants pulled down. I'm guessing that anyone sitting on the one side of the ring got a look at the "full monty" too, so to speak. With all the kids in the crowd, I have to kinda question that, but oh well...As the match went on, Dundee and even Clayton got involved in the match and got some chops and slaps in on the heels. So much was going on that I kind of missed the end, but basically, Cabana and (I think) Compton hit Gooch with some sort of a sky-high slam and pinned him. After the match, Cabana put over everyone he could. Everyone was dancing around and acting silly. It was fun and the crowd obviously ate it all up. As I said, being so this match was filmed for the movie, it served it's purpose. Heck, even I got up and popped like a goofball in hopes that I make it into the movie.....Hey, I'll admit it, I can ham it up if I want to! Ha ha!!!!
All in all, I won't say this show was great. The first few matches were rather tough to sit through. But overall, I did feel that the quality of the show was a bit better then the first show I attended. The Whitmer/Richards match though was the one that gave me my money's worth, without question! And like I said, for what it was, the main event did what it was suppose to do. The crowd sure ate it up and really, in the end, pleasing the crowd is what it's all about.
The next show is on March 10th and is going to be a benefit show for Harrisburg, Illinois and then the next show after that is scheduled for April 4th. I won't say that I'll be at these shows, but it all depends upon who is booked.
