I don't know if anyone is interested in this or not, but I thought I'd just give a head's up to anyone who might be. On Sat. Nov. 5th, IPW is running and double-header show with CZW in Indianapolis. IPW is running a show in the afternoon and CZW is running one that evening. There's hasn't been too much announced for either show yet, but here's what we've got so far: Insanity Pro Wrestling !!! The Drake/Scotty match should be extremely violent and Rico/Fox is a match I've been looking forward to for a while now. Here's what CZW's announced so far for their evening show: CZW presents 'Deja Vu' in Indy Nov 5th 2011 @ 7:30PM @ Fountain Square Salvation Army Gym 1337 S. HYDE will go one-on-one with SAMI CALLIHAN Barbed Wire Madness CZW Ultraviolent Underground Champion MASADA vs. DANNY HAVOC vs. "THE BULLDOZER" MATT TREMONT vs. NECRO BUTCHER I thought the Sami/DJ match was going to be a no-rope barbed wire match, but I'm not sure if that's still the plan or not. The 4-way match is for the UVU title. If you go to IPW's web site: www.insanityprowrestling.com/ they are selling General Admission tickets for both shows for only $25 bucks! But, if you want to get a front row seat for the CZW show, you can order one of those here: www.czwrestling.com/czwproshop/Apparently, the IPW show is going to be GA only. I just thought I'd share the info for anyone who's interested in what should be a pretty exciting afternoon and evening of action.

Here's what went down on Sat.
IPW - Insane Intentions
Aaron Epic vs. Hyzaya Hyzaya had his ribs taped up and looked to be legit in pain. I don't know anything about Epic, but he was solid. Both guys looked good and Hyzaya was way over with the crowd. Hyzaya won with a Swanton off the top rope. After the match, both guys shook hands. Great way to start the afternoon/evening.
Sugar Dunkerton vs. Jeremy Hadley This match started off with lots of comedy spots but it didn't hurt the match since both of these guys are very entertaining to begin with. I thought one of the funniest spots was when Sugar put his basketball in the corner and started talking to it as if he was Al Snow talking to his head. Once the comedy was over, Sugar was actually pretty vicious and hit Hadley with some wicked strikes. In the end, Sugar went for a move in the corner but Hadley sat down on his shoulders and held the rope for the pin.
DNA (Doug Charlez & Aaron Extreme) vs. The Young Studs (Eric Ryan & Bobby Beverly) vs. The Messiahs of the New Age (Dustin Rayz & Ricky Shane Page) vs. The Kentucky Buffet (Alex Castle & Matt Cage) So many things happened in such a short, quick period of this match. KYB were, by far, the most over team in the match. The Young Studs are a team from the Chicago/Northern Ohio areas. I've seen Beverly before. He still kinda reminds me of Alex Shelley a bit. Ryan is a small, bald guy with a beard. I've seen some of his matches on DVD, but never in person. Ricky Shane Page is the now maskless Christian Faith, who looks a lot less menacing without his mask, but still has amazing skills for a guy his size. DNA still kind of reminds me of Zero Gravity. Aaron Extreme is a really, really tiny guy. So much was going on so quickly in this match that I can't even remember it all. It started off with Beverly against Alex Castle. Castle has really improved lately and actually looked pretty good. The match broke down rather quickly and before long, everyone was on the floor and almost everyone was taking turns doing dives on top of everyone else. There was more diving in this match then at the mosh pit of a Dead Kennedys show circa 1983....and they didn't even call them mosh pits back then. Anyway....the other spot I remember was Aaron Extreme pulling off a reverse 'rana on Page. That was amazing! Page and Rayz make an awesome heel tag team! In the end, Rayz pinned Eric Ryan somehow. So many things were happening that I didn't see how he pinned him.
Jesse Emerson (w/ Greg Carey) vs. Uhaa Nation I've been hearing things about how awesome Uhaa Nation is, but this was my first time seeing him. Apparently, he comes from the same area in Georgia as AR Fox and Johnathan Gresham. Dude is a HUGE, jacked-up black guy. The match started off kind of slow, but build up nicely. Both guys were throwing each other around all over the ring and taking huge bumps. Nation looked very impressive and Emerson looked great, as he usually does. Emerson hit Nation with everything he could think of and Nation kept kicking out. He then hit Nation with a wicked Alabama slam and Nation kicked out again. Emerson was shocked and then him with a second, even more wicked AL slam and got the pin. Great match! Nation got a "Please come back!" chant.
Dave Crist, James Avery, Dave Davidson, Simon Sezz & Alex Colon vs. Reed Bentley, Sue Jackson, Remi Wilkins, Clark Conner & Stitch Sypher This was pretty much the mother-load of "thrown together" matches. But, the basic point of it was a kind of "old vs. new" tag match. Conner and Sypher were the only two I had never seen before. I have no clue who Clark Conner is. He was a rather out-of-shape guy who looked like he didn't really belong in a ring. Sypher, on the other hand, was awesome! Apparently, he too comes from the same camp as Fox, Gresham and Uhaa and kind of reminded me of that one guy from the band Fishbone. This was another match were so much happened that I couldn't keep track of it all. The things that stick out the most were the fact that Simon Sezz was WAY over with the crowd and for a decent portion of the match, Sue Jackson took a huge beating. Of course, there was also the "everyone do a dive to the outside" spot which Sypher pulled off the most impressive flippy/twisty dive move. In the end, somewhere in all the craziness, Remi Wilkins hit Dave Crist with a lung-blower (I think that's right anyway) and got the pin. After the match, Crist got on the mic and really put the younger guys over.
"Madness" Chris Hall vs. James Reeves After seeing him get the living crap beat out him by Lonestar on Wed., I didn't expect to see Reeves on this show. This match was even worse for him. Hall beat the crap out of him again and pinned him after a "Polish Hammer" type move. The whole match was 1:50 long.
IPW Jr. Title Match AR Fox vs. Ricochet (c) This match was one of the dream matches I've wanted to see for a while now....and man, did it deliver! Both guys looked absolutely awesome! I hadn't seen Fox in person in a while and he was pulling off some new moves. There actually wasn't quite as much high-flying stuff as you'd expect, but both guys worked well together. At one point, Fox had Rico sitting on the top rope and he jumped up on the rope with him and hit a Blue Thunder Driver on him all in one motion. That move was AMAZING!!! He went for a pin but Rico kicked out. He tried to hit him with it again, but Rico pushed him off. After a little more fighting, Fox got him on the rope again and hit the move again and this time, got the pin and is the new IPW Jr. Heavyweight champion. AWESOME MATCH!!!!
IPW World Title Match Sami Callihan (c) vs. BJ Whitmer vs. Jake Crist This was supposed to be just Sami vs. BJ but they announced at the beginning of the show that Crist had been added to the match, which was perfectly fine with me since he's really been tearing up the indy scene lately! Sami was, by far, the most over guy in the match. It's almost amazing how popular that guy is, but you gotta respect the fact that he's really busted his butt to get to where he is. The match was nothing short of awesome. Obviously, working the three-way match has got to be different but all three of these guys worked the match perfectly. It started off with BJ and Crist working together against Sami, but that didn't last too long. There were lots of submission holds used and at times, the match almost felt like a shoot fight. Once again, things broke down and everything started happening so quickly and somewhere in the craziness, Crist had BJ down and locked Sami in an arm-stretcher submission hold. Sami tapped out and Jake Crist is the new IPW World Heavyweight champion. Another AWESOME match!!!
Main Event Fans Bring the Weapons Cage Match Drake Younger vs. Scotty Vortekz The weapons people brought were pretty crazy....a Samurai Sword....really?? HA HA!!! Anyway, this match was obviously being billed as the pay-off to the feud Drake and Scotty's been having for over a year now. The ref for the match was Kyle "xOMGx" Threat. Say what you will about hardcore/deathmatches, but these two guys know how to work this kind of a match and did it perfectly. They started off slow and didn't over-use the weapons too much. Actually, the most dangerous weapons they used were chairs. Drake dropped Scotty on the side of a chair at one point and Scotty looked to legit hurt his ribs. The action went back and forth. Both guys were bleeding, but Drake was bleeding the most. Once Drake got full control of the match, he hit Scotty with a Drake's Landing onto a chair, but Scotty kicked out at ONE. Drake went crazy and took out Kyle Threat with a waterjug bat. In the end, Scotty had a chair set up and hit Drake with a VERY sick Blue Thunder Driver through the chair and got the pin. After the match, Drake got on the mic and said that Scotty is the best Naptown Dragon and then basically said this was the end of the feud and both guys shook hands.
After all of that, they kicked us out while they cleaned up the place and set things up for the CZW show. Once they let us back in, I started seeing lots of people that I didn't expect to see there. Steve (I think that's his name) the "cookie guy" was there. He's the guy who goes to all the CZW shows in Philly and brings cookies....which are yummy, by the way! Ha ha!!! I noticed that Vince Jones and a few others from IWA MS were there. But then, the real shocker was none other than Ian Rotten himself was there and spent the whole night hanging out with Vince and the others from IWA MS....make of that what you will!
On to the matches:
CZW - Deja Vu
8 Man Scramble Match BJ Whitmer vs. Alex Colon vs. Simon Sezz vs. Hyzaya vs. Aaron Extreme vs. Stitch Sypher vs. Aaron Epic vs. Sugar Dunkerton Another obviously "thrown together" match. The real shocker to me was having Sugar Dunkerton in there. I wonder what Quackenbush is going to think of him working a CZW show since I have heard that he went crazy about The Osirian Portal working CZW shows after that whole "World's Most Illegal Move" thing last year. Anyway, the match started off with Sugar telling everyone that he wanted to make the match a 4-on-4 basketball game with him and BJ as captains. They each picked teammates and then the ref threw the basketball up....and then everyone just beat the crap out of each other! I can't even remember what all happened, but BJ eliminated the most guys. The order of elimination was: Sugar, Sypher, Simon, Epic, Extreme and then BJ. That left Hyzaya and Alex Colon. Both guys worked hard. Hyzaya was obviously hurting from his ribs. n the end, Colon got the pin after hitting Hyzaya with a superkick.
Ryan McBride vs. Latin Dragon This was the first of three mini-tournament matches in which the winners are going to have a match next week in Philly and then the winner of THAT match will go on to have a Jr. title match at Cage of Death in Dec. Both guys got almost no pop from the crowd since most people had no clue who either of them are. It was cool to see McBride since I don't think he's ever worked outside of the east coast. Dragon is a new guy who is a trainee of the CZW Academy. (Actually, he's a guy who I talked to at the first Tournament of Death I attended, but since he's a masked guy, I'm not supposed to know that....HA HA!!!) Anyway, the match was decent. Both guys worked hard. Dragon took some wicked chops and his chest was darn near bleeding. In the end, McBride got the win with a jumping DVD move.
Drew Gulak vs. Jonathan Gresham This was the second match of the tournament. As with McBride, I don't know that I've ever seen Gulak work outside of the east coast. In fact, this is about the first time I've see wrestle at all in a while since he's mostly been doing a lot of heel promos in Philly. The one thing I will say about him is he needs some bigger tights. I really never had a desire to see his butt cheeks. Anyway, I hadn't seen Gresham in a while either. He's been working all over the world lately. Gresham still looked good, but honestly, this match just never really clicked. Maybe it's the fact that I've never been very impressed with Gulak. In the end, Gresham got the pin with an armdrag roll-up kind of hold.
AR Fox vs. Uhaa Nation This was the final match of the mini tournament. All I can say about this one is....OH....MY....GOD!!!!!!!!!! This match was pure awesome from start to finish! Fox even came out with the samurai Sword! Ha ha!! Both guys worked perfectly together and were pulling off high-flying moves that guys as big as both of them shouldn't even consider doing. At one point, Uhaa did a dive over the top rope onto Fox and didn't even touch the ropes! HOLY SH*T was that amazing!!! I know the use of the "This is awesome!" chant is overused these days, but this match got that chant and it was WELL deserved! In the end, Fox hit his Jumping Blue Thunder Driver move and got the pin. After the match, Uhaa got a HUGE "Please come back!!" chant. This guy could be booked on every show I attend from now on and I don't think I'd get sick of seeing him. By far, this was the Match of the Night!!!
Ultraviolent Rules DJ Hyde vs. Sami Callihan At one point, this match was supposed to be a No-Rope Barbedwire match, but that obviously got changed. I'm not sure why this was called an "ultraviolent rules" match since there was nothing really ultraviolent about it. They did brawl around in the crowd pretty quickly in the match. Chairs were thrown, Sami got whipped into the wall and a table fell on him and both guys basically mauled each other. Once they got back into the ring, they traded stiff strikes back and forth. DJ hit Sami with a wicked lariat but Sami kicked out and in the end, Sami hit DJ with a lariat and got the pin on him. All in all, I expecting this one to get more violent than it was. It was a solid match, but nothing special.
The Messiahs of the New Age (Dustin Rayz & Ricky Shane page) vs. Irish Airborne (Dave & Jake Crist) This match started off really well. Both teams looked great and worked well, but then, literally out of nowhere.....Jake had Rayz in a submission hold and Dave Crist super-kicked Jake in the face and then swaggered off to leave him to face Rayz and Page alone. Rayz ended up hitting Crist with a piledriver move off the top rope and pinned him. The two things I'll say about this is that Rayz and Page are an awesome team that need to be used in more places and the coming Crist vs. Crist feud should be a sight to see!
CZW World Title Match Devon Moore (c) vs. Drake Younger vs. Scotty Vortekz This was being billed as an "open challenge" match. Drake came out and accepted the challenge, but just as they were about to lock up, Scotty's music played and he came out to accept the challenge as well. Both Drake and Scotty looked as though they were half-dead from their match on the first show, but all three of them worked hard. The match was kind of short and nothing special really happened, but in the end, Devon got the pin on one of them (honestly, I can't remember who) after a clothesline/superkick move. After the match, Scotty challenged Devon to a title match at Cage of Death, if Devon was still the champ after next week's Philly show.
Main Event Ultraviolent Underground Title Match No-Rope Barbedwire and Gusset Plates Match Masada (c) vs. Danny Havoc vs. Necro Butcher vs. Matt Tremont As usual it seems for CZW, they had to set up a bardwire board in the corner right in front of me, so there were certain things about this match I didn't get to see. The first big thing I remember was seeing Tremont go flying through the wire and getting really cut up. I swear that dude is the new Ian Rotten! They were all brawling around the ring and Necro used the steps (what is it with Necro and steps???) on Danny. Later, Masada slammed Danny through the side of the steps and they quite literally exploded with the sharp screws sticking out all over the place. Although it was being the board and I didn't really see it, Necro and Tremont started punching each other in the face and before long, Tremont knocked Necro OUT!!! Necro fell down and he was GONE!!! Tremont tried to pick him up but he was literally dead weight. The ref said that Necro was eliminated because he couldn't continue and he was carried off. Masada then pulled out the wooden skewers and stuck a bunch of them into the back of Tremont's head, the top of his head and....IN HIS MOUTH!!! OUCH!!!!!!!!!! He then had Tremont laying over the wire on one side and then threw one of the boards onto his back....and then slammed Danny threw the board while it was against Tremont's back! Somewhere in all of this, Masada pinned Tremont and eliminated him. That left Masada and Danny. Masada pretty much destroyed him. At one point, he was hitting him so hard with a trash can lid that it bent around Danny's head....and I'm not talking one of those aluminum lids they use in WWE. This was an old school, metal trash can lid. The crowd was almost chanting for the gusset plates to be use and finally, Masada pulled out a wooden contraption from under the ring in which the plates were attached. He threw Danny onto it but Danny kicked out. Then, Danny suplexed Masada onto the plates but then he kicked out as well. Finally, Masada powerbombed Danny onto them and got the pin. I'm sure that people who hate hardcore matches would absolutely hate this match, but a vampire like me enjoyed it just for the pure brutality factor of it. Masada came off looking like a total beast in the match. And as for Tremont, I really hope that guy wins at least one of the deathmatch tournaments next year. He deserves it just being one crazy, reckless mo-fo!
After it was all over, DJ Hyde came back into the ring and thanked us all for coming out to the shows and then announced that CZW is coming back to Indianapolis in Feb. on the day before the Superbowl (whenever that is....I don't follow football at all). Considering how hard it is to get around in Indy these days with all the road construction, I can't image what it'll be like to try to make it to this show with all the football fans in town.....BUT, being the goofball that I am, I'm sure I'll be there for that! HA HA!!!!
As much of a CZW fan as I am though, I'd have to say that IPW did put on the better of the two shows. BUT, the match of the whole afternoon and evening, in my opinion, was the Fox/Uhaa match. All in all, the whole thing was awesome and made for quite a fun afternoon and evening!
