ACE Heavyweight Championship
Dan Maff © vs. Steve Corino
The hype lived up to its billing. A match SIX years in the making, nearly torn down the ACE Arena. When Dan Maff defended the ACE Heavyweight Championship against Steve Corino back at Anarchy in August there was one thing that was clear when the match concluded, when would there be a rematch? Steve Corino had done what no one has been able to do since Maff came to American Championship Entertainment, defeat the champ. Granted, one might not even consider it "moral victory," as Corino himself also was counted out of the ring resulting in the match being a double count out, however, one can look at is as Corino beat the champ. It was only Corino standing at the conclusion of the match, thanks in no small part to the stump puller piledriver Corino delivered to Maff through a table at ringside which resulted in the double count out. When word trickled out that Maff retained the championship against Bruno Marciano at Fallout, Corino immediately contacted ACE management about a return match, which he was granted. Maff was informed of the decision to grant Corino a return match a few days after Fallout, and the champ was more than happy to have the opportunity to again get in the ring with the man who holds an unofficial victory over him. Now, on November 7th in Union City, Maff/Corino II. The war to settle the score. This time there can be no excuses. There can be no retreat, and there will be no surrender. Who will ‘Rise 2 Power’ and walk out of the ACE Arena as the ACE Heavyweight Champion?
Ricky Reyes vs. Mo Sexton
If you were to ask wrestling fans to name some dominant tag teams from the northeast area in the last few years, you’ll hear a variety of answers but among them will be the Havana Pitbulls. Now ask those same people to name the more dominant no nonsense member of the Havana Pitbulls, and the answer would likely be very quick, Ricky Reyes. Reyes, when he went solo from the Pitbulls, was able to unleash an unbridled level of dominance & remorseless violence the indies in the northeast, the likes of which had never been seen. Now Reyes, who has been terrorizing the territories in Puerto Rico, now comes to Union City on November 7th to once again reestablish his dominance. However, to do so he’ll have to get past “The Workhorse” Mo Sexton. Sexton, who had been given the moniker of “the renaissance man” for his ability to adapt in the ring to the various styles of the challengers who came forth to attempt to wrest the heavyweight championship from him, has now dubbed himself “the workhorse” for his never say die attitude and ability to come back from seemingly insurmountable odds, now finds himself forced to delve into his inner resources of heart, desire, and passion to overcome the unrelenting offense of Ricky Reyes. Sexton, who sits on the cusp of a future championship match, will take on the Havana Pitbull who is looking to sink his teeth into a great challenge. Which one will rise to the challenge?
ACE Diamond Division Championship
Bandido, Jr. © vs. Shawn Walker
This unusual series between Shawn Walker & Bandido, Jr. has become a game of one-ups-manship over the last few months. Bandido became the #1 contender for the Diamond Division Championship and challenged for the title back at Anarchy. Walker was successful in his defense of the title thanks to a distraction caused by his hired muscle, Dover, at ringside. Bandido immediately challenged Walker to a rematch but told him to "leave Dover out of this & face me like a man." Feeling his "punk card" had been pulled, Walker accepted and the rematch was set for Collision Course. With Dover nowhere in sight, Bandido made good on his promise and made Walker tap out capturing the Diamond Division Championship. Walker, within moments of returning to the locker room & calling Dover to inform him (some say he could be heard "blaming" Dover) of what had happened, was seen beating on the door of management to demand his immediate rematch. Walker was granted his request, but there was a problem, Bandido had already informed management he wouldn’t be available for the Fallout due to a prior booking. Walker was livid at this news, but demanded an opponent to prove to Bandido that he can beat him, especially without Dover. With Dover not at ringside, Walker went on to defeat the former Light Heavyweight Champion Javi-Air to send a clear message to Bandido, that title will be mine! Now at Rise II Power, Walker gets his rematch, and Bandido, Jr. get his opportunity to silence Walker once and for all. Can Bandido prove his win was not only no fluke, but he’s the fighting champion Walker should be, or will Walker regain the title he believes he never should have lost, and again establish himself as the ‘top dawg’ of the Diamond Division?
Benny Martinez vs. EC Negro
After what should have been a moment for him to catch his breath, relax, and think about securing one of the biggest wins of his career here in ACE, Benny Martinez instead found himself having to run back out to prevent “The Golden Gun” EC Negro from further beating Vince Steele with a steel chair. For those not familiar with the career of “The Golden Gun”, he’s a multi-time co holder of tag team championships all over the northeast with his former partner KC Blade in the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels; was a former stable mate of Dan Maff and has always been a top challenger for the heavyweight championship for every company he’s ever worked for. While it seemed as if there was some kind of history between Negro & Steele, Martinez wasn’t interested in the history lesson when he returned to the ring to save his fallen opponent. With the return of EC Negro to American Championship Entertainment can he finally have set his sights on the prize that’s eluded him in the past, that being the heavyweight championship? And if so will Benny Martinez be a stepping stone in that direction or can Martinez capitalize on the momentum from Fallout, and knock off the former “tag team champion of the universe?” Is there more to the past of Negro involving Vince Steele, and will more of it come to light at Rise II Power?
R8D X vs. Midnight Sensations
Much to the shock of R8D X members, Envy & the returning Neeno Capone, the newly former team of "Hot Blooded" Chris Rockwell & “Sharp” Sam Shields (who had never been partners before) gelled fairly quickly as a new team and were able to score the win in their match up at Fallout. After a regroup, Capone & Envy were quick to challenge the new Midnight Sensations to a rematch which they were quick to accept saying that any chance to show Envy & Capone that they’re never going to be as successful as a team, is a great opportunity. With the rematch signed for Rise II Power, can the Midnight Sensations make it 2–0 against R8D X or will Envy & Neeno Capone step up to the plate, and score their first win as a team?
Azrieal vs. Bruno Marciano
At the conclusion of Fallout last month, if there was any doubt left in the minds of the fans or even the locker room of ACE, there was a message sent LOUD & CLEAR at the end of the heavyweight championship match...Bruno Marciano had arrived. A laceration from an errant head butt by Dan Maff during the early stages of the match seemed to put the young challenger behind the proverbial 8 ball in his bid to wrest the championship from Maff. Despite the injury, Marciano continued to press on his attack on the champion but in the end was unable to capture the championship. However, a clear message was sent, Marciano was going to be a major force in the heavyweight championship title scene. On the heels of his victory over Eddie Kingston at Collision Course, Azrieal, now a man on his own following the dismantling of “Hollywood, Inc.” made it very clear he was a man on a mission, to regain the ACE Heavyweight Championship (a title he’s not held since 2005). To further insert himself into the title hunt, he’ll have to take down someone with as much heart & desire as he has to move one step closer to the #1 contender’s position. On November 7th, these two young superstars will meet at Rise II Power, but who will rise to the challenge and more one step closer to achieving their goal of becoming heavyweight champion?
