NEW FOCUS WRESTLING would like to welcome the newest member of our talent development Team. As of today January 22, 2012 Walter Barron has accepted a position as a member of our Talent Development Team joining Charming Charles, and John and Debra Richards. The goal of the Talent Development team is to find the best talent nationally and in the Midwest and bring them to NFW for the enjoyment of the Fans
NFW Management had this to say about their latest hire
“We are always looking to expand our product and we listen to our fans. Recently we brought in Drake Younger to NFW and the response has been tremendous. They have let us know in no uncertain terms that they would like to see more hard-hitting Hi-Flying action. After last months tag team match between Drake Younger/Canadian Kid & Brandon Espinosa /Ace Hawkins and seeing the crowd response, the decision was made to do just that. The Talent Development team reached out to Walt because he already has a history of a working relationship with the up and coming Talent in the Midwest as well as with the Strong Style Wrestlers nationally. We couldn't be happier to add Walt to our staff.”
When asked about his move to NFW Walt had this to say
“I couldn't be more pleased than to be associated with NFW and the Talent Development Team. They work their butts off to promote their shows and they consistently draw good crowds. I am sure we will be able to have a fine working relationship. Sure we each have our own viewpoints and ideas about wrestling but the synthesis of those ideas is only going to benefit the existing NFW fan base and expand to include those who are fans of this style of wrestling”
Asked about how he sees his role Walt said this
“NFW will continue to feature former WWE/TNA stars as well as the Mid-south Legends people are used to as well as all your NFW favorites. Nothing I do is going to change that, but in addition it will be my focus to find the next wave of talent and the best talents in the ROH /Hi- Flying and Strong Style Wrestling. I have always liked working with the up and coming talent cause I enjoy their enthusiasm and drive. By adding them into the mix at NFW we hope to add excitement and innovation and at the same time broaden our fan base and add to the ranks of the NFW Nation. Face it the larger our fan base then the bigger and better shows we can produce for the NFW faithful.”
So what changes can the NFW fans expect to see
“Well to start with at the March show we are adding a couple of New Divisions to the show. One will be the Adrenaline Division and will feature the ROH, Strong Style and High Fliers that should inject instant excitement very similar to the recent matches with Canadian Kid, Drake Younger, Brandon Espinosa and Ace Hawkins. We are also bringing in some familiar local faces to the NFW roster with the introduction of JP Lightning and Shank Barzini into the Adrenaline Division with more talent added as we get up and running.
We will also be introducing another Division which we haven't quite named yet. I always felt part of the fun of wrestling was seeing someone at the start of their careers and watching them grow. I've been lucky enough to do that back when I used to watch the old USWA with Ricky Morton, Jeff Jarrett and others. More recently I've really enjoyed watching Chuck Taylor, Ricochet, Drake Younger and others grow from local heroes to stars that are respected all over the US, Japan, and Europe. I think we have an obligation to find and guide the Next generation of wrestlers. So we will be featuring the best of the newest Talent in this Division and giving them a place to shine and grow and earn spots on the regular NFW Roster. More details to be released later”
One Thing is for sure... NFW isn't sitting back and wrestling on its laurels or being satisfied with being good enough. Some say the Mayan Calendar predicts that 2012 is the end of the world. If that is the case then NFW is planning on going out with a BANG!
