I was on the CCW facebook page and it looks they will no longer be running shows on Wednesday nights. The cosbys have walked away from promoting in the colisium. They did come on and say that they may start running shows in a diffrent building in Evansville. The Cosbys put on one hell of a show every week. There seemed to be a lot of momentum going there. They had good wrestlers and good story lines. It seemed like that had so much going on. Are the Ackers that bad that no one can run that building for longer than 6 months? Curious what you guys have to say about this. I sort of hope that the cobsys dont try and run on wednedsday nights like every other promoter who has left has. I dont know how well hey will end up doing.

Obviously......every time things start going really well Mark Acker f**ks it up. It would be different if the quality of the shows remained the same, but i can assure you it wont. Disappointing. The Cosbys really were starting to bring in the who's who of midwest wrestling. Darn shame.

Well, that really sucks! My guess is that all of this is going to translate to "Goodbye, Whitmer and Crist.....Welcome back, Dr. Blue and Matt Maverick."
Oh well, it was nice to have a half-way decent company in Evansville for a little while. At least now I know I can come home from work on Wednesdays and not feel as though I'm going to miss something by not going to the Coliseum.

From what I know from people I have talked too this may have been more of a finical issue ( as in tired of loosing money ) than a problem with the Ackers. Although Mark Acker probably is another reason with his constant banning wrestlers,( some with good reason others not.) from the coliseum and trying to micro manage the shows instead of the building. My understanding is the show will go on as normal but I can see The Ackers bringing back Mitch Ryder maybe to run things or things are patched up by Wed.

I suppose my reaction was a bit knee jerk. I have no idea what happened and prolly shouldnt have commented. With the talent they were bringing in, i suppose its possible that they were losing money. The crowds seemed to be decent but i guess you never know what they had to give to the management just to run CCW?? I was really starting to look forward to seein the card every week. I really hope they keep the talent.

Nothing wrong with what you said Ike I was going down that path as well and was ready to make much of the same comments, but I had to make a phone call on another matter and that came up. I do not think that Mark Acker is completely Innocent in all this but I can understand him wanting to protect what his son built. Because of that reason , I also hope they keep the talent they have coming in. Please no more Pot Head John.

I don't think money had anything to do with it. I have heard it was all the ackers attitude and bossiness. I doubt it was a money issue as someone told me they are looking for a new building and are going to run even bigger shows. As far as the talent I was told that Bj Dave Gooxh hy Zaya Pondo and Tony are done. Someone told me the ackers were trying to retain gooch as a Booker though

As far as the talent I was told that Bj Dave Gooxh hy Zaya Pondo and Tony are done. Well Jeeze....there's goes all my reasons to even consider going to another CCW show. I remember back about a month or so ago when I went to a show (the one where they brought in Crist for the first time). After the Pondo & Necro match, Pondo got on the mic and said something to the effect of "Give it up for Sam Cosby! He lost his ass on the show tonight, but we still put on a hell of a show for you all." So, money might have played a part in all of this.

If Mark Acker really wanted to protect what his son built, then he should try taking a little bit of pride in the show that he puts on. The CCW that had been running for the past month or so was on par with the CCW when Eric ran the shows. The shows before the Cosby's took over running the place were a disgrace minus the legends shows every once in a while.

I just dont see how it can be a good show. Even when the cosbys ran the show it wasnt blow away amazing. It was nice to see Shank Gooch BJ Dave Necro Tony and those guys every week. You still had Skyler Dr Blue Matt Atreya Kaige Kuttlers and the random wierd guys they would bring in. From what I was told from a wrestler on facebook. Alister Fear and J Grunge and Lonestar are going to be running the show. I just cant see Alister Frear and J Grunge having enough connections to get good talent and to be honest Im curious if they will even know what good talent is. I read online where they were talking about damaged inc or something coming back. Does anyone know who that is and should we care? Half of me wants to go this week tosee what it will be like but the other half makes me want to save the 8 dollars. What are you guys going to do

I agree that while the CCW shows during the last few months have been better than usual, I also agree that they haven't been "blow me away" awesome either. But for years now, we've all been wishing there was at least something here in Evansville that we could actually get behind and support. Even with me traveling around all over the country to go to shows, it would be nice to have something local I could support as well. And for the last few months, it felt as though we were getting close to something worth supporting. Now, at least for me, those hopes are down the crapper, once again.
Unless something that sounds interesting gets announced, I won't be anywhere near the Coliseum on Wed.

OK I do not have a whole lot of info on the show but made a phone call and this is what I was told.
Attendance was around 20 to 25 people which better than expected. Wow! you went from pulling around $800.00 to about $80.00 in a week.
I predicted the Return of Mitch Ryder as he did come and Tracey will also make a return.
I am afraid the heartbeat is fading.Thought I would never say that. I believe this was 20% money and 80% Acker why Sam is not there. Unlike Dundee and Briley, Sam brought Credibility to CCW.
Next week there is a show but I may goto the one in Olney instead.

Man....when CCW crashes and burns, they do it in a hurry! I really have no problem with Tracy or Ryder....in fact, they're probably two of the only"old school" guys I don't have a problem with. However, given the choice of them or guys such as Whitmer, Crist, Necro, Pondo and Hyzaya, I'll take the latter.
I wouldn't blame you for making a trip to Olney, Storm. I'm not even sure they ran a show this Wed., since I haven't seen any results anywhere. But I will tell you that they sure ran a barn-burner last Sat. and look to be planning another one on Dec. 10th.
