Ike sorry we did not get a chance to meet last night.
Like you I thought it was an OK show but I enjoyed myself.I was a Little disappointed in how the Lawler, Dundee match ended.I also hated to see my boys Renesto and Brody loose the tag titles, but glad to see they did not have Cornish come out in the Crusher outfit. A couple of cool things was Brody looking right at me screaming where's my belt. The guard rail crashing into me can not believe I did not get hurt, and Cavedweller I thought of you when this happened a blood Lonestar laying on the guard rail facing me pretty cool.
Ike would you agree one of the biggest lowlights was Dr.Blue being on the Legends Show.Wish Bill Dundee and Pondo could have done more on the Mic.

Pondo is one of my favorites on the mic, but he is at his best when he is heel and on a non PG show.
The Dr. Blue match was a weird opener. I would think you would want to start with something to get the fans riled up. I was just glad CJ Popp wasn't on the card. I'm not a fan of Dr. Blue at all, but he is at least tolerable.

I would have called out CCW for having Dr Blue for being on the card but the match wasnt horrible. He seems to be in some better shape and hell, i suppose you have to get better somewhere. What the match lacked in skills it made up for in entertainment.
The random tag teams in general totally killed most of the show for me. Like it was completely overbooked. The lockeroom was so full of guys they just had a bunch of random tag matches. The tag title match, Lonestar/Luke vs Dundee/Christopher and Smothers Clan vs the JCW clan are the exceptions. I thought the second half of the show was much better than the first.
I dont care to see Brian Christopher. I wouldnt pay 10 cents to see the guy work. That being said, the reaction he gets in Evansville darn near gives me goosebumps. Hell, the guy got a bigger pop than the King. The Dundee/Christopher entrance was among the highlights of the night!
I have to admit i was a bit let down by Brody Jr. He has a killer look but as pretty terrible in the ring, from what i saw. Im a huge Renesto fan but i thought the match was a big let down. Just seemed like a lot of weak punches and kicks and a lot of standing around.
The Dundee/Lawler exchange to end the show and hype the next legends show was classic. Took me right back to the days of Cory Maclin.

I agree with you on Pondo and Popp but not on Dr. Blue being Tolerable I just can't do it. He may have come across that way last night , but it was because of Juicy Jimmy's gimmick taking the focus off wrestling.

Dr Blue to me is twice as good as Popp. If thats even possible. Pondo always rules, but hes better when he can be rated R on the mic.

It sounds as though the show was about on par with the Legends shows I attended last year. Outside of a match or two (mostly the ones that featured Jerry Lynn), I was bored stupid at those shows. That's why I said that I have had my fill of those kinds of shows and I honestly don't foresee myself going to any more wrestling shows in the Evansville/southern Indiana area. But hey, if other people enjoy them, then that's their thing. I really don't understand why Brian Christopher gets the reaction he does. I mentioned how over he is around here to a guy in Philly once and his reaction was, "That guy's still around???" Personally, I thought he was boring back in the USWA days. But hey, once again, if he draws like that, then the companies around here need to keep bringing him in, I suppose.
I totally agree about the non-PG Pondo. When I saw him work some shows here in Evansville last year, I was looking forward to him doing what he does best, but I quickly realized that the Pondo in Evansville isn't anywhere near the same as the Pondo I've seen in other places. His promos alone are what make those "Brink of Death" shows in Ohio the slightest bit entertaining, especially when he gets into it with the old lady that throws her shoes at him. HA HA!!!!

Oh, there was a time in CCW, when Ian was calling the shots when pondo took rated R promos to another level. There were times when i thought some women were gonna jump the rail and attack him. Hes had me in tears with some of the stuff he comes up with. There is a promo on youtube from IWA where he is ripping one girl in general. Its one of the most brutal things ive ever seen but at the same time, its the funniest too!

I just thought, I would bring this up. I have been racking my brain but can not recall CCW's regular Wednesday shows being promoted during the Legends Show. What a wasted opportunity this is. They could have held over a couple of the Legends and announced that they would be there next week, brought in a couple of people not on the show or at the least announced a main event.Does anybody have any thoughts.

That definitely would have been a good idea Storm. They definitely didn't promote the weekly shows because Lawler even said on the mic "I don't know how often you hold shows....". That would have been a perfect opportunity for Dundee to have jumped in and mentioned the weekly shows but he only mentioned the next Legends show. You would think CCW would want to promote every show, not just their Legends shows.

The Dundees run the Legends shows and they also collect the $$ at the end of the night. Jamie doesn't collect the $$ at the end of the night on the regular weekly shows so WHY would he care how the other shows draw.
He's NOT there for CCW. He's there for the Legends shows, himself AND a fat payday! THAT is all.

Cant blame Dundee for wanting to get FAT paid, once a month. I dont really see where there is anyone to blame. CCW gets the credit for the old school cards under their name and Dundee gets the $$. Seems like a decent marriage to me. There is no way 90% of those people are showing up again without a similar card anyway.

Yeah, but the CCW folks really think Jamie is there to help put CCW over. That hasn't happened since day one. Defend all you want. And I agree you can't blame someone for getting PAID once a month like that. But slapping the CCW logo Nic Wood created on posters that never go out to more than Henderson bars and facebook, is NOT helping CCW AT ALL. Especially when nothing more is announced about CCW at the shows.
It's a perfect marriage for "Jamie Dundee" and a "payday". But ZERO benefit for CCW. As much as you all like to argue, you CAN'T argue with that logic. Seriously.

I love to argue, when the person im arguing with is flat out wrong. In this case, i will not argue, especially for CCW. I could care less about them. They are the least fan friendly of any promotion in the tri state. That being said, before Dundee, there were never more than 150 people in the Coliseum. At least now there are 500-700 people there every few months. The CCW weekly show will NEVER be successful. Period.
