The shark man dont really got no dogs in this race but somebodys gots to say something. You guys are as pissy as a couple of middle aged women. Why dont you both stop cryin and pregnant dogin? Your doin nothin but cloggin up this message forum with crap. Ive never been a big fan of those owensboro folk but ive never wanted to be one of them either. This one fella is on here posting as about 5 differnt people and seems to have a lack of friends. Looks like to me he is jealous or something. Talkin about watchin people from a distance is all together sad my friend. You sure know alot about those fellas but they dont know you. Its easy to talk a lot of trash about folks when you dont have to face the music. While im not a fan of them boys id just soon walk right up to em and tell em this wendsday night than i would hide behind this hear computer screen. If you got some problems then you should find a better way to express yourself because you my good buddie are just coming off as sad and desperate.

Since at one point, this thread was about shows over in Illinois, I'd just like to point out that IWAU has now announced that Jimmy Jacobs and Zach Gowen are going to be at their May 4th show AND....Akira Tozawa from Dragon Gate USA is going to be at their May 25th show! Looks as though I'm going to be spending a few Wednesday nights in the bubbling metropolis of Olney, IL in the near future!

The thing that keeps me from gettin to excited about those guys comin in is the guys they will be working. IWAU doesnt have a lot of guys on their roster that can hang with them. The youtube stuff is a good idea but from what ive seen, the in ring work isnt the best.

Ike I am with you. Joey O'Reilly was the only one who really impressed me when I attended their show in Mt. Vernon last Friday. At least they are willing to bring guys in and that has to be some kind of plus.

I agree with that as well. From what I've seen, it's not something I would travel to see. But since I work in Vincennes on Wednesdays anyway and Olney is only about 35 miles away, I'm going to give it a shot. If those shows were happening on my days off, I probably wouldn't drive up there for them. I'm planning on hitting the show on the 16th with Gargano and we'll see how that goes. I just mostly posted that about those announcements for anyone who's up around that area that might not know.

The Saturday show has Davey, Cannon and Corbin. Maybe they will match Davey and Cannon. That would be a pretty good matchup and its something that i havent seen before. Im sure they will prolly put them all against their own guys but if they did match them up, i would think about giving it a shot.

Cavedweller I have a question for you since you work up in Vincennes. I know the King will work the MECW show on the 4th but according to the St.louis board he will be at a IWA ( differnt from the IWAU ) on the 5th have you heared this advertised up there.

Nope, I haven't heard anything about that, Storm. I couldn't even find it on the St. Louis board. Jeez....how many IWAs are their anyway??? HA HA!!!!
To be honest, I don't think MECW has really done all that much promotion around Vincennes for their show on Friday, other then the commercials that ran during their My44 TV show. I saw one poster and that was about it. I don't get around town too much up there though, so I don't really know if they had more up anywhere else or not.

If any fans may have interest in the three week marketing approach for this event...
- Purchased numerous spots during WWE Monday Night Raw the previous two Mondays along with TNA Impact, both via a local cable company.
- Utilizing a two-station local radio campaign that encompasses Knox County (Vincennes) and seven surrounding counties, along with ticket giveaways and a two-station radio remote planned prior to the show.
- Distributed quarter, half and full sheet fliers and posters within a 45 mile radius.
- Sent hundreds of Facebook invites.
- Submitted press releases to area media outlets.
- Heavy promotion during our weekly television program on My44.
- Offering free general admission tickets to all Vincennes University students (enrollment 5,000) with valid student ID. This has generated an amazing amount of word-of-mouth promotion.
Although we can't reach everyone we hope that we are reaching a large portion of our target audience. I hope you enjoy the show!

Cavedweller sorry it was when you first go onto the St.Louis wrestling community board it will give a list of different promotions running in the area and it was under IWA production which happens to be right above the IWAU show. I would have copied it but I am pretty much computer challenged.
Thanks by the way for your response.

Not to start another war here, but this post is right on about some things and off about others. I don't care that you aren't a fan of us, but the part that I Bolded is questionable. We don't know who you are and you have never walked up to us and told us. So, you basically are hiding behind a computer.

I'm confused by this. Did you really mean free? I can see giving Vincennes University students a discount of some sort, but it seems weird to let them in free. That's a good portion of the target market. It sounds great for generation word-of-mouth promotion which will help at future shows, but won't the promotion possibly lose it's a$$ on lost ticket sales? Either way, it sounds like MECW is doing the right thing in promoting the show. I hope for a good turnout. It's not a bad card and I would be there if the show were closer and on a night that I didn't already have plans (my Birthday is the next night and I'm celebrating it that night).

I didn't mean anything negative about the promotions for the MECW show. I was just saying that for me personally, outside of seeing the spots during the My44 show, and the one poster I saw, I didn't see any other promotion. I wasn't trying to say that you didn't promote the show. Please remember, I'm a complete oddball that gave up watching WWE years ago, I don't waste my time on Facebook, and I don't listen to local radio stations in Vincennes (outside of the crappy one that my boss tortures us with at the store). I hope that the word has spread around and though the show isn't my cup of tea, so to speak, I hope you have a HUGE turn-out tomorrow night...and no, I'm not being sarcastic by saying that.

Thanks for the reply, Dream. I could see why you'd question admitting VU students free. We may be a little, or a lot crazy. I'll defer to the old adage, "It's not always about the money." This is about our fans' Experience and trying to fill the joint to the rafters. This is about introducing younger fans to MECW and putting our best foot forward in a new city. The money that we leave on the table by admitting students for free will potentially give us three to five times the value in advertising via word-of-mouth. I'm sorry that you can't make the show, Dream. Give us a shot next go 'round. Happy Birthday!

Thanks, Cave Dweller. No offense taken here. We'll get a card that will appeal to you soon, my man. Thanks for the feedback and the kind words.
