I know this really has nothing to do with the Evansville wrestling scene...or even the Indiana scene...or even the mid-west scene. But, as many on here know, I enjoy sharing my adventures in the world of indy wrestling and this is my next one. It was announced at CZW's October show that on Dec. 11th, they were going to do a double-header show with Jersey All Pro Wrestling at the ECW Arena (or the "Asylum Arena" as it's known now...what a dumb name!). In the afternoon, it's going to be the second half of JAPW's anniversary show (the first half is in New Jersey the night before) and then the evening show is going to be CZW's Cage of Death. This is JAPW's first show at the ECW Arena. Anyway, both companies have run their last shows before all of this and here's how things are set up so far (check out the main event for the JAPW show!!!!): Combat Zone Wrestling updated the card for their 12/11 Cage of Death 2011 event in Philadelphia, PA at the ECW Arena: - In the Cage of Death, Danny Havoc & Devon Moore & Scotty Vortekz & Dysfunction v. tHURTeen & Brain Damage & Masada & Drake Younger. I am told there will be elements from the COD - Suspended used for this year's COD. - CZW champion Jon Moxley vs. Homicide in the latest chapter of their tremendously stiff and brutal feud. - CZW Ultraviolent Underground champion Nick Gage vs. Big Japan's Yuko Miyamoto with the United States debut of the Death Match specialist! - Philly's Most Wanted, Joker & "Black Jeez" Sabian vs. The Osyrian Portal to crown new CZW Tag Team champions. - Sami Callihan vs. Robert Anthony. - CZW Junior Heavyweight champion Adam Cole vs. A.R. Fox. The COD event will be preceded by Jersey All Pro Wrestling's Anniversary show, which will feature: - The ECW Arena debut of Japanese legend Jushin "Thunder" Liger vs. Mike Quackenbush! - Brodie Lee, one of the best big name brawlers to hit the scene in some time, vs. Rhino. - Nick Gage & Necro Butcher challenge the JAPW Tag Team champions! - Teddy Hart, Kenny Omega, Jay Lethal, The Briscoe Brothers and more are also scheduled! A few notes on the CZW show: First of all, this isn't Miyamoto's first time in the U.S. He worked (and won) Pondo's Masters of Pain tournament last year in West Virginia and also worked IWA:EC's anniversary show. Robert Anthony is the now mask-less Egotistico Fantastico. He's gotten hardcore lately too. His recent match with Jon Moxley got pretty violent. At one point, he went through a pane of glass and his back got all cut up. The "Suspended" thing for the COD main event is what they did at COD 5, where they had a cage set up with a "bridge" that went from the top of the cage to the "Eagle's Nest" (where Joey Styles used to do commentary back in the ECW days). I'm not sure how they are going to do that though because that part of the Arena is a "sky box" now with a wall in front of the actual part where Styles and the hard cam used to sit. They also used two rings for the COD 5 set up, so I'm not sure if they're going to do that or not too. As for the JAPW show, the Liger/Quack match should be nothing short of epic! This is Liger's first ever match in the ECW Arena and it's the first time him and Quack have ever wrestled each other one-on-one. I've heard some names mentioned on their message board that would fall under the "more are also scheduled". Those names include Jack Evans, Charlie Haas, Homicide, Eddie Kingston, B-Boy, Dan Maff and even El Generico (although I've also heard he's suppose to be booked in Cali. that weekend). I'm sure more of the CZW guys will work that show too since most of them have been working JAPW shows lately. I've also heard that at least CZW's COD is going to be streamed as an iPPV on the Internet. I'm not sure if the JAPW show is going to be streamed as well or not. I've heard that CZW has tried to stream shows in the past and have had disastrous results with it, but if anyone wants to check it out, it's suppose to happen here: www.HybridEnt.TV If anyone watches this show (or shows), I'll be in the front row for the JAPW show (I actually got the very first ticket, Section A, Row 1, seat 1....no joke! HA HA!!!) I'm not sure what section they're calling "A" at the Arena. Then, I'll be in the second row (it's nearly impossible to get front row tickets for CZW shows...unless you know the right people) in the East section, which is the section where "Hat Guy" used to sit back in the ECW days. The hard cam doesn't face that direction anymore, it faces the South section so East is to the left of that. Also, there's going to be a "fan fest" at The Arena that day during the late-morning/early-afternoon and I plan on going to that as well. I might as well get the full experience since I'm going all the way up there for all of this anyway. They're even having bus trips for people from NYC to come in for the shows, so this event is going to be HUGE!!!! Sorry if I'm coming off looking like an a-hole for bragging about going. That's really not my intention at all. I'm just wanting to share my adventure and I'm sure that after all of this is said and done, I'm going to have a TON of stories to tell. So, get ready for a post of truly epic proportions once this is all over.

Really Cavedweller really, you would rather goto the CZW'S & JAPW " Super Saturday Show" on December 11,2010 instead of being at the C.K. Newsome Center for the Pro Wrestling Genesis presents Alpha on that date.
OK before anybody gets upset I am joking. It sounds like a great trip and I hope all goes well for you.
You do not come across as a a-hole because you like to share info about your trips.I like others are probably a little jealous of your trips. We may not always agree on the same wrestlers or the same style of wrestling, but I do have respect for you because you do travel to all these different shows and the passion you have for wrestling, and I love hearing people talk about the matches they have seen.Hopefully you will write a book about my life as a independent wrestling fan or at least try to get published by Pro Wrestling Illustrated so others can share in your experiences, but please do not think you come across as a a-hole because of that. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Perfect Storm.

One of the biggest reasons I like to post reports about these kinds of shows that I travel around to check out is because I hope it'll get people talking and realize that there's more to the wrestling world then just what happens around here or the crap that's on TV. I realize there are a lot of reasons why we don't get shows like these in this area, but maybe part of me thinks (or wishes) that if I talk about it enough, other people will check this stuff out too and get excited about it enough to want to see shows more like these. HEY!! I can dream, can't I?

Don't ask me how, but I'm still alive and back in Evansville. I braved the Winter storm yesterday and somehow, I made it. Between the heavy snow, not being able to see the lines on the road and then, closer to Evansville, black ice (I nearly lost control of the car at one point and ended up driving the last 30 miles or so at about 35 MPH), things were tough. But....I made it. I almost want to say that the trip wasn't worth it, however, I had so much fun in South Philly on Sat. that the trip WAS worth it....don't know that I'd be too excited to do it all again exactly the same way anytime soon though.
The drive up on Friday wasn't hard at all and actually, it was almost warm (nearly 50 degrees) in the Philly area all weekend. I'll skip the details about all of those things and just get to the good stuff.
Sat. morning, I made my way from Delaware to Philly so I could check out the fan fest they were suppose to be having. At the same time, Philly was getting ready for the Army vs. Navy football game, so the traffic was HORRIBLE!!!! I got stuck in a traffic jam on I-95. It actually wasn't as bad as I've heard the traffic jams on 95 can get, but it did take me about 45 minutes to get over the bridge and into Philly. Once I got to The Arena (I refuse to call it "The Asylum Arena" because that name is just too stupid!) it was a little after 11. The doors were closed tight and there was maybe 4 or 5 people just milling around in front of the place. Figures it wouldn't happen! So, I ended up going to Tony Luke's and eating a Pepperoni Pizza Philly Cheese steak. Man, that thing was a heart attack in a wrapper, but it was GOOD!!!!!! I then drove around south Philly some and then went back to The Arena and actually got a decent parking spot on Swanson in front of the front door. I've always heard such bad stories of things that happen behind that place, so I've been lucky with getting spots in front of the place the times I've been there. Since I got a good spot, I just layed the seat back, settled in and waited for several hours. While I was sitting there, I saw Yuko Miyamoto walking down Swanson. A little later, he was walking back towards the Arena, chomping on a cheese steak. I even got a picture of that! HA HA!!!! I talked to a guy who parked next to me who said he had went to the JAPW show in Rahway the night before and said that Jusin Liger had won the Lt. heavyweight belt and the match with Quackenbush was going to be for the title.
After a while, the bus from NYC showed up. That thing was HUGE too! They then opened the doors and let the people on the bus in first. The security for the show was Atlas Security (the same company that ECW used to use). I went in and milled around for a bit and bought a bunch of DVDs and a Cage of Death shirt. I took those things back out to the car and then went back in and found my seat. I was sitting in the corner right by the entrance area, right by the one pole. I was kind of stuck between the pole and the guy sitting next to me, but it was awesome to be sitting in that spot in the ECW Arena! The crowd was strong, but the place wasn't full. I've heard that there was about 60 people there, but I'm not sure. The ring announcer for the show was Steven DiAngalis (I know I spelled that wrong) of ECW fame. I believe he was recently used as the ring announcer for TNA's "ECW reunion" PPV.
I'll try to be as brief as possible, but here's how the matches went:
Devon Moore vs. Josh Daniels vs. Bandido Jr vs. Azreial Daniels wasn't much to write home about and I'm not even sure why he was added to this match. Bandido and Azreial used to be tag partners and they went after each other right away. Moore pulled off some decent high spots but overall, the match wasn't anything special. It seemed really rushed. In the end, Moore got the win with a shooting star press onto Daniels as Bandido and Azreial continued to beat the Hell out of each other all the way to the back. Moore was SUPER over with the crowd, which is amazing considering that he used to the "scumbag" of Philly.
Corvis Fear and Annie Social (with Corvis' partner who was on crutches) vs. Joe Hardway and Mia Yim (w/ Fat Frank (I think that was him anyway), Hardway's partner and three strippers) This match was nothing but one cluster-f*ck after another. Before the match, they brought out a stripper pole and the strippers danced. None of them were much to check out. I mean, one of them had a decent a**, but that was about it. Now I know the actual definition of the term "rats". Personally, I found Annie Social to be more attractive. Once all the stupidity calmed down, the match itself was AWFUL!!!! Fear and Hardway didn't impress me at all. Social and Yim worked harder then both of them combined...and Yim wasn't even that great. In the end, the one stripper with the nice a** got up on the ring and planted a kiss onto Social and Yim rolled her up for the pin. The funniest part of the whole match was when someone yelled, "HEY!! Move your hookers! I can't see!" and one of the girls (who looked to be about 13 years old) said, "We're not hookers! We're strippers!!!" HA HA!!!!!!!!!
Eddie Kingston vs. B-Boy As B-Boy's music played, the guy behind me said, "NOW we'll get to see someone who can actually work a good match." I said, "Is it weird that I'm more excited to see B-Boy then skanky strippers? Does that make me weird??" Anyway, the match lived up to it's potential. Both guys showed each other respect, but once the fight was on, it was stiff and brutal. Both guys exchanged brutal stiff chops and the action of back and forth. In the end, B-Boy hit a shining wizard and got the pin. Once he got up, Eddie showed B-Boy respect. The match was short and bit rushed but overall, it was a really good showing by two of the best in the indies.
JAPW Women's Title match Sara Del Ray (c) vs. LuFisto I had seen where they were selling some LuFisto stuff at the JAPW table, but I didn't know she was going to actually be there. That was an awesome surprise! Again, the match was a bit rushed, but it was still really good. This is how women's matches should be! LuFisto looked great! She had to retire after her back got all screwed up, but she looked to have not missed a step at all. And Del Ray always looks like a beast! She's awesome! They fought all over the place and exchanged all kinds of stiff-as-Hell strikes. In the end, Del Ray got the win and retained her title.
The Briscoe Brothers vs. The United States Death Machine (Sami Callihan & Chris D*ckenson) (Who set the filters on this thing anyway??? HA ha!!!) I don't know much about D*ckenson, but he didn't impress me much. Before the match, him and Sami exchanged chest chops to see who was going to start the match...don't ask me why. The Briscoes looked like total tanks, as usual...especially Mark Briscoe. Man, he was like a machine in this match! He chopped Sami's chest so hard that it started bleeding. In the end, The Briscoes went for a "doomsday device" but Sami rolled up mark for the pin.
Next was intermission. I got my picture taken with Jusin "Thunder" Liger!!!!!! What a cool, nice guy! Sumi Siaki was with him and helping him communicate with fans.
Jay Lethal vs. Kenny Omega AWESOME MATCH!!!!!!!! Both guys looked like a billion dollars, which is what I expected from both of them! It's sad that no one realizes how good Lethal really is when he's not acting like Randy Savage or Ric Flair. At the start of the match, Lethal did the "Flair strut" but quickly stopped and gave a "Nah!" move. The match went back and forth with both guys pulling off PERFECT maneuvers on each other. They both made everything look so effort-less. In the end, Omega pulled off this absolutely AWESOME move where he got Lethal on his shoulders in an "electric chair" kind of move and then slipped his head quickly between his legs and dropped him into a German Suplex and then covered him for the pin.
JAPW Championship match Rhino (w/Fat Frank) vs. Brodie Lee (c) Despite the fact that Philly hates Rhino, he actually got a decent pop and wasn't booed out of the building. Brodie Lee looked HUGE!!! The guy is actually starting to look like Bruiser Brody. The match started quickly with Rhino attacking Lee right next to me as he entered. There were a bunch of stiff shots taken, but in the end, Lee's Hillbilly Wrecking Crew partners, Nick Gage (who is the most "over" guy in Philly!) and Necro Butcher interfered and cost Rhino the match.
JAPW Light Heavyweight title match Jusin "Thunder" Liger (c) vs. "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush Before the match, the legendary New-Japan referee was brought out as the ref for the match. I'm not sure of his name, but I got a good pic of him and anyone who knows classic Japan wrestling will know who he is. The match was awesome beyond words!!! Both guys were going back and forth and tieing each other up in submission moves that made their bodies like pretzels! There wasn't much high-flying though. Each guy did (I think) about one big dive to the outside. The end of the match was a bit anti-climatic with Liger hitting Quack with several VERY stiff palm strikes and getting the win. Minus the quick ended, the match was everything a five-star match should be! After the match, Quack showed Liger tons of respect, raising his hand and hugging him. As Quack walked towards me and out of the ring area, he got very emotional and started crying. Liger was limping and favoring his knee. Once both guys got to the back, I could hear the guys in the back were giving both guys a HUGE ovation!!!! Awesome, awesome match!!!!!
JAPW Tag Title match Da Hit Squad (Monsta Mack and Dan Maff) (c) vs. The Hillbilly Wrecking Crew (Nick Gage and Necro Butcher) I figured they were doing this match last because it was going to be an insane brawl...and it was! It was like watching The Headhunters vs. Ron & Don Harris in ECW circa 1994 or The Gangstas vs. Public Enemy circa 1995. Maff got on the mic and started putting down Philly which brought out Gage and Necro...and the fight was ON!!!! Gage and Necro were actually throwing Maff and Mack around like they were counterweights! Maff got busted open, hardway from all the punches and stiff chairshots. Mack and Necro ended up doing a "barroom brawl" in which Necro busted Mack open hardway from repeated headbutts. I'm thinking this was the last move, but at one point, Necro and Gage hit a super-plex off the top rope onto Mack, which nearly caused the Arena to explode from the impact. However it happened, Gage and Necro got the win and are the new JAPW tag champs. After the match, Brodie Lee and the Briscoe Brothers came out to celebrate. All five of those guys were so over, it was INSANE!!!
Overall, it was an awesome show. At times, the crowd was kind of dead, but that's be almost be expected from Philly fans anymore. I enjoyed the whole show very, VERY much though and that's all that really matters to me. After that, they made us all leave The Arena so they could set things up for Cage of Death.
I will write my "Part II" of this review later this evening, but I've got to take a break from all of this.

Ok...now that I've had a nice, big nap and feel slightly more alive, time for Part II: CZW Cage of Death 12.
Before I get into this, I forgot to mention something else about the JAPW show. When I first got in the Arena, as I was milling around, of all people, Raven was hanging around. I remember thinking that he was going to do some kind of a run-in on a match, but he was never used. I only saw him before the show and never saw him again.
Anyway, after they ran everyone out to set up for Cage of Death, I was hanging out by the rental car and started talking to a super cool guy from New Jersey (with the accent and everything!). He was telling me all about how he takes his son to the shows and hangs around outside until they're over and everything. I freaked him out when I told him I was from Indiana. He said, "Man, these guys in these shows are crazy and I've heard they don't even make any money from this." I said, "Well, where I come from, some of these guys work shows and get paid in hot dogs...and that's if the show actually draws!" It sure made the time go by, as the crowd of people waiting to get in grew bigger and bigger and got more and more crazy.
Anyway, once I got in, the place filled up FAST!!!!! My seat was in the second row, right behind where "Hat Guy" used to sit back in the ECW days. As I sat there, I watched the droves of people flooding in the door. They didn't stop!!!! The word is that the fire marshal shut them down and said they weren't allowed to let anyone else in. I've heard some reports saying there was as many as 1500 in there! That's numbers that ECW used to draw at the highest point in their popularity.
They had to get the show up and running because it was promised to the bus riders from NYC that the show would be over by 12:30. So, on to the show!
They start off by explaining how the show was being shown on iPVV and there was some awkward moments while they set all that up.
Rich Swann vs. Alex Colon vs. Ruckus vs. Ryan McBride vs. Akuma (W/ some "rat") vs. Jonathan Gresham This match was for a spot in the "Best of the Best" Jr. Tournament that's happening in April. The match was a flippy good time. Some of the moves were a little off, but nothing stood out as horrible. I thought Alex Colon looked pretty good. I'd seen him do some matches before and wasn't all that impressed by him, but he's improved some. Swann and Gresham looked really good too. McBride didn't do much, but he looked alright. Ruckus didn't do much, but did pull off the "razzle dazzle" at one point. Akuma is the guy who sort of resembles Chris Benoit and once wore a mask in Chikara and was known as Gran Akuma. He had some valet with a large butt. he didn't do much in the match either, but while four of the guys were fighting on the outside, he scored the pin on Gresham.
Next was an awkward moment as Drew Gulak was shown on the big screens cutting a promo....only his mic didn't work. How nice! The crowd was going insane because the whole situation was so boring and drug on forever.
Next, Greg Excellent came out to the ring with Kylie Pierce and his mother. Greg is a somewhat comedy wrestler who personally, I don't mind watching that much but I can see why the Philly crowd hates him and wants to see him get fired. If he worked in Evansville, he'd probably be the most popular wrestler in town. Anyway, lately, he's been doing this angle in which he's been coming out and wanting to prove himself to DJ Hyde and DJ has been telling him, "I'm sorry, but I just don't have anything for you." Anyway, Greg came out and started cutting a promo. I don't even know what he was saying because the "SHUT THE F*CK UP!!!" chant was soooooooooo loud! The only part I caught was when he said, "All I can say to DJ and all you people in Philly is, I'm sorry. And I also have to say something to you as well, Mom....I'm sorry!" He then grabbed his mom, stuck her head between his legs, butterflied her arms and DROPPED HER ON HER HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The whole Arena went INSANE!!!!! She took and sold the move PERFECTLY too! The ring filled up with security and medical people who put her on a stretcher and carried her out. Excellent was held back in the corner and acted as if he was crying. I gotta say that was the most original heel turn I've ever seen. My only question is how do you go up to your MOM and say, "Hey mom...I can't get over. Everyone hates me. So, I have an idea that'll get me heat. Mind if I drop you on your head???"
After that shock, it took everyone a moment to figure out what we had just seen...well, that and I was joking with everyone around me about it. Later in the show, when they were trying to do another backstage promo that we couldn't hear, the guy next to me said, "Let's beat up someone else's mom!" HA HA!!!!
"The Ego" Robert Anthony vs. Sami Callihan This match was for the #1 contendership to the world title. For those that don't know, Anthony is the now mask-less heel that used to be known as Egotistico Fantastico and for some odd reason, Sami is a face now. Anthony is a GREAT heel. He came out in a fancy fur-lined coat and cut a promo about how great he is...or something. It was hard to hear because there were lots of air horns being blown every time he spoke. Sami then hit the ring and the fight was on. Anthony didn't even get his coat off for the first few minutes of the match. The match got really stiff and borderline hardcore, with lots of chairs being used. Both guys chopped each other's nipples off and both of their chests were bleeding. Anthony even threw Sami into the crowd, almost 3 or 4 rows back on the opposite side from where I was. In the end, Sami locked Anthony into that cool submission move he does by hooking one leg behind his head. The first time, Anthony got a rope break, but when Sami went for it again, Anthony reversed it, rolled Sami up and got the pin. It wasn't perfect, but still and very, VERY good match.
CZW Jr. title match Adam Cole (w/Mia Yim) (c) vs. A.R. Fox I knew this one would be a flippy good time. Fox is one of my favorite new guys I've seen around lately and Cole works for ROH these days. Cole worked his new heel gimmick pretty well. The match went back and forth and both guys pulled out their usual, impressive moves. Fox even hit a Sliced Bread #2 move onto Cole on the ring apron. In the end, Yim distracted Fox and Cole then set him up for Canadian Destroyer in which he jumped off the top rope and flipped over Fox and then flipped Fox over for the pile driver! Insane move!!! Cole then got the pin and the win.
After the match, Cole's former tag partner, Tyler Veritas came out and said he had a title shot that he wanted to cash in and that led to...
CZW Jr. title match Adam Cole (c) vs. Tyler Veritas Nothing of real note in this match, but both guys worked their butts off. In the end, Tyler had Cole in a submission move and Yim came in and sprayed him in the eyes with hair spray (I can't believe I just typed that) and then Cole reversed the move and locked Tyler in a sloppy Cross-face until Tyler passed out. I'm not sure why all of that happened. It seemed like a waste of time, but, oh well. It could have been worse.
CZW Tag Title match Philly's Most Wanted (Sabian & Joker) vs. The Osirian Portal (Ophidian and Amassis) This match was the finals of an on-going tournament that CZW was holding since the last champs, Drake Younger and Eddie Kingston vacated the belts when Kingston quit the company. The crowd was ALL over Sabian and he is really one of the most legit hated person on the whole CZW roster...and not because he's a heel, it's because he's such a legit a**hole. it was cool to finally get a chance to see Joker in person. He looks so much different now though. He's lost a bunch of weight and is a stripped-down machine now. As for the Portal, they were their usual, awesome selfs. I really enjoy watching these guys! The match had some silliness in it, mostly because of the Portal's Chikara training, but when they weren't being silly, the match was really stiff! The action went back and forth with Amassis taking a LOT of punishment throughout the match...and that guy sells like a million bucks! There were so many big spots and near-falls. It was actually an awesome match. The silliest part of the match was when Ophidian hypnotized Joker and Sabian and they made them dance to "Can't Touch This". Seeing Joker do that was something to see. Anyway, when not being silly, The Portal are awesome. They were pulling off tandem high-flying moves and hitting the timing of them PERFECTLY!!! I remember back in the ECW days when even Sabu and RVD would try to do moves like that and never hit at the same time. The Portal's got that down pat and did it several times in the match. After the dace off, Joker got serious and kicked Amassis in the groin while Sabian untied Ophidian's mask. As Amssis laid on the mat, Ophidian went to check on him and Sabian pulled his mask off! Ophidian fell on the mat, hiding his face. Sabian covered him and scored the pin and him and Joker are the new tag champs.
After the match, Sabian was on the mic and was pregnant doging out the entire Philly crowd who were ALL over him. Next, he challenged ANY team to take the belts from him and Joker. He asked any team to "Man up!!" This brought out THE BRISCOE BROTHERS!!! The place went crazy! For those that don't know, The Briscoes were first trained by Jon Dahmer and started in CZW back in 2000 when they were still in high school. Jay got on the mic and challenged Joker and Sabian for to a title match. Sabian declined and left. Jay got the mic back and said Sabian wasn't calling the shots and that him and Mark were getting a shot at the belts at the Jan. show. That should be an awesome match!
CZW World title match Jon Moxley (c) vs. Homicide I was really looking forward to this match. Homicide came out wearing a really sweet Misfits "Crimson Ghost" shirt in which the skull had gold teeth. Pretty funny! The match was brutal and stiff. At one point, Homicide hit a flying elbow which busted Moxley's nose WIDE open. He was dripping blood from his nose. Homicide's attacks were brutal and Moxley sold them like a million dollars! At one point, they broke into a "hockey fight" and Moxley got cut above his eyebrow. He was bleeding buckets from his nose and his eye...and it was all hardway bleeding too! Homicide finally started hitting Mox with all his signature moves, the 3 amigo suplexes, the cop killa....everything and Mox kept kicking out. Mox finally hit an inverted suplex/piledriver move and got the pin.
After the match, Brodie Lee jumped over the gaurdrail and attacked Moxley. He then picked up the CZW belt and handed it to Mox and then pushed him over. Mox fell onto the mat and sat there, selling the attack perfectly. Brodie them left and Mox got up to a HUGE ovation! The match itself wasn't quite as good as I expected, but overall, the whole thing with the run-in and everything was pretty well-done.
Ultraviolent Underground title match Nick Gage (w/ Dewey Donovan) (c) vs. Yuko Miyamoto Drew Gulak was brought out to be the "special referee". He never took off his "Wired TV title" belt, which was pretty funny. He kept getting into Gage's face and taking away weapons as Dewey would hand then to Gage. Finally, Gage had enough and hit Drew with a choke-enstien. he then got on the mic and said, "This is CZW so let's do this, CZW-style!" and then things such as barbed-wire bats were brought out to the ring. Even a barber-wire fence was placed on the side of the ring between the gaurdrail and the ring apron. The fight was on. Gage then bounced off the ropes and ran at Miyamoto who back-dropped him over the ropes and onto the barbed-wire fence. Miyamoto then got up on the top rope and did a huge elbow drop onto Gage which caused the fence to collapse! Once both guys were up, Gage got control and threw Miyamoto into the crowd. Sadly, with there being so many people around, I wasn't able to follow the action. They went over by the Men's room and up the stairs to the "Eagle's Nest" as Joey Styles used to call it. Gage hit Miyamoto with a chair and then dumped him over the side of the rail. Miyamoto was holding on, but Gage hit him in the fingers and Miyamoto falls off the balcony and through a table. HUGE "C-Z- Dub!!!" chant after that. Once they got back to the ring, it action stayed there. It was brutal though, with chairs, thumbtack bats and barbed-wire everywhere. Finally, Miyamoto gets under the ring and pulls out a HUGE 15 foot high ladder. He sets it up in the ring. The thing went all the way to the top of The Arena. He climbed up and even used one of the light fixtures to steady himself. He then did a picture-perfect moonsault off the top onto Gage, landing RIGHT on his head! It was NASTY!!!!! Gage looked to be knocked out. Miyamoto rolled over on top of him and pinned him to become the new UVU champ. It took Gage forever to get up but once he did, he was p*ssed off! It was a sun, insane match.
After the match, Ryan Slater and Joe Gacy were shown on the screen saying how they weren't being used on the show. Maven Bentley then came on screen and said he just didn't have anything for them. They then dragged Maven out to the ring and asked him for a title match against Sabian and Joker. When Maven said no, they beat him up. That was pretty pointless actually.
After that, they took an intermission to set up the ring. I tried to mill around the Arena, but the people were packed in there sooooooooooooooooooooo tightly. I did run into Amassis at one point and shook him hand. He's such a cool guy! Also, for some unknown reason, Luke Gallows from the WWE was at one of the merch tables, signing autographs. I took a picture of him, but didn't try to talk to him.
Cage of Death Suicide Kings (Vortekz, Danny Havoc, Devon Moore and Dysfunction) vs. Cult Fiction (Masada, Brain Damage, tHURTeen w/Billy Gram) and Drake Younger For those that don't know, Drake is a heel now. He calls himself "The Golden Boy" and has bleach-blonde hair (which is pretty funny looking) and acts like Hulk Hogan. The match was set up in a War Games style. Every minute or so someone else came into the match and it was under elimination style rules where whenever someone hit the floor, they were eliminated from the match. The cage itself was something to see. I can't even describe it, but it was insane! The first person out was tHURTteen who came to the ring with Billy Gram. Next was Devon Moore. Gram stayed in the cage and him and tHURTeen beat Moore down. Once Moore came to, he picked up a thumbtack bat and beat the HELL out of Gram with it. Gram bladed and was bleeding all over the place, but for some odd reason, he stayed in the ring for the entire match. Next out was Brain Damage. He started beating the hell out of Moore until Danny Havoc was added to the match. Havoc goes after Damage, but Damage got control and hit Havoc with a thumbtack bat so hard that tacks flew all the way to the concession stand in the back of the Arena! Masada comes out next and basically rips Havoc and Moore's heads off. Then Dysfunction comes out and him and Havoc start to work over Brain Damage. They throw Damage into a barbed-wire board that was set on a side of the cage. The cage breaks and Damage falls through, eliminating him. I don't know if that was a planned spot or not.
Next out was Drake Younger. He goes after everyone and takes then all out. lastly, Vortekz comes out with a WEED WHACKER!!! I knew they couldn't use that in the match, but still it was an awesome visual. Everyone in the ring runs into the corners of the cage (supposedly, Masada was over-heard saying, "I ain't taking that sh*t!!!") as Drake Younger jumps out of the cage, eliminating himself. Younger gets on the mic and says a weed whacker wasn't part of the deal. As Vortekz gets on the top rope to yell at him, Masada attacks him. He gives Vortekz a Russian leg-sweep on the slanted side of the cage and then tosses him off. Vortekz landed on the guardrail and how he didn't break his ribs is beyond me! Vortekz was eliminated.
The match continues and tHURTeen and Dys end up fighting on top of the cage. Dys kicks tHURTeen off and he falls off the top through tables and chairs. Somewhere along the way too, Havoc got eliminated, but I don't remember how. Next, Masada and Dys were fighting on the top of the cage right above where I was sitting. Dys fell off the cage, but was hanging onto the side. Masada then pulled out his wooden spears and sticks a bunch of them into Dys' hand and arm! Dys doesn't go down! So, Masada then sticks more of them into his head and Dys falls off, through a table and is eliminated. Next, Moore and Masada end up on the top of the cage on the oater side. They were fighting as Billy Gram climbs up to join the fight. Masada sticks more wooden spears into Moore's head. but then Moore goes crazy and starts beating the hell out of Masada AND Gram! He then dumps Masada over the side, but Masada hangs on and Moore keeps punching him. Masada finally falls and lands onto a table, but also hits the back of his head on the gaurdrail. It was NASTY!!!! Devon Moore was declared the winner. He then throws Billy Gram off the top of the cage, into the ring but then Drake Younger runs back out and climbs up to the top with Moore and hits a Drake's Landing onto the top of the cage. He them threw Moore off the top and through a pane of glass in the ring. Just then, B-Boy's music starts playing and out comes B-BOY!!! Drake jumps out of the cage and over the rail and out the front door. Gram is left in the ring, bleeding all over the place. B-Boy sets him up in the corner, against a barbed-wire board and places a pane of glass in front of his face. Moore then flashed the horns and does B-Boy's running dropkick onto Gram, through glass. They leave and then Gram is carried to the back.
That was the end of the show. Overall, I personally don't think the show was quite as good as last year's but it was still an awesome show! Despite all the insane crap I had to go through to get home the next day, I think it was worth it. However, I don't know that I want to go through all the ice and snow anytime again soon!
By the way too, I took close to 300 pictures at both shows and I plan to get those posted as soon as I can. I don't know when I'll have time though because I had an issue at work the other day that I need to get taken care of and that's the only place I can post things because my computer at home is junk. Still, I'll get them up sooner or later.

I just read that the official attendance number for COD was 1,189. I had always heard that the maximum capacity for the ECW Arena was 1,100. So the show was a sell out. That sure was one of the most tightly packed crowds I've ever been a part of.

Sounds AWESOME! That move Omega uses is one of the baddest moves in wrestling today! Overall, it sounds like a great trip, minus the snow of course!

Sorry for being slow in getting these up...more computer issues. User friendly? MY A**!!! Anyway, I finally got my Cage of Death pics up. Again, they're backwards...don't ask me why. I'm technologically stupid. But, you get the idea. Here they are: www.myspace.com/443693995/photos/albums/album/1482344#mssrc=SitesPhotos_SP_AlbumCover_ViewAlbumAlso, yes, the snow did suck, but other then that, I'd say the trip was worth it. Last Sat. was pure fun, that's for sure. As for Omega, I was lucky to get pics of him pulling off that move and yes, it's one of the best in the business right now. The fact that Lethal took the fall from it makes it even more devastating. I first saw Kenny Omega at the first ROH show I attended in Indy back in early 2009. He was in a three-way match against Claudio and Danielson. I had never even heard of Omega before that. Mostly because I don't follow ROH as much as I would like to and probably should. During the match, I thought, "Man, where did THIS guy come from?" I've been a huge fan of his ever since! I really think he's one of the most talented guys out there...especially on the indy scene.

I know I keep going on and on about this trip and these shows, but I just thought I'd share the fact that the awesome (and super-nice) Lyle C. Williams has posted his official pics from both of these shows (and yes, I'm in a few of them! Ha ha!!)
