Attendance was around 90-100
JP Lightning def Nick Brubaker
Good match to start the show.I knew JP would deliver, Brubaker didn't dissapoint either. Good solid match to start the show with, crowd is definately into the show.
Billy Hardaway def Tommy Danger
Lots of history to this match people might not know about. A lot of hard hitting from Tommy. Billy pulls out the win with a canadian destroyer out of nowhere, with obvious pops from the crowd.
Justin Andrews def Tommy Cole
Third match in a row that delivered the goods. Tommy Cole was a pretty intense guy. Justin impressed as well. For some reason I can't remember how, but Justin won over Tommy
Mitch Ryder 3 way
Shane Mathews was one of the other guys in the three way but I don't know what the other guys name was. I wasn't too impressed with the third guy at all. He messed up a spinebuster and may have hurt Mitches knee a little. The spinebuster kind of messed up the finish and made it jumbled. Mitch was over with the crowd
intermission
MsChif def Mia Martinez
Disappointed with this match to be honest. Wasn't impressed with Mia at all. Still steps ahead of most women on TV, but seemed to bring MsChif down.
Ricochet def Shank
Awesome match. Not sure how recent it is, but he cut his hair off and has gear I haven't seen before. Speed and flying from Ricochet and power from Shank. Ricochet and Shank were battling on the outside when Ricochet slipped into the ring before the 10 count. Shank lost it and took out 2 chairs on his way out of the arena.
Full Throttle def Zero G
Probably my match of the night. Full Throttle are very intense and just seem angry. Zero G are both really small and use the speed to their advantage. Lots of crazy spots and a ton of speed and intensity throughout. Zero G was setting up a crazy tag move and Full Throttle turned it around with a doomsday device bulldog.
Intermission
Drake Younger Def Chuck Taylor to retian CZW title
No way this could have turned out anything other than a great match. Walt announced that since attendance was high and the support was very appreciated that Drake would defend his CZW title. Chuck scared a child on his entrance. Kid was dazed for a few seconds and then took off running all the way out of the building. Chuck attempted to scare another kid after asking his mom to hug it out. Tons of interferance from Chucks manager Mr Rush. Drake wins after a school boy when chuck tried to use a chain wrapped around his fist. After the match Shank ran to the ring and attacked Drake. Shank and Chuck beat on Drake for a while before Ricochet, Billy, and JP
Awesome awesome awesome awesome show. Definately garunteed on the promises. The only thing I noticed was that DaCobra wasn't there. Way to bring great wrestling to the area. I will definately be back next month, and every show following. Hopefully it will be around for a long long time.

The lack of crowd numbers shows one or all of three things:
1. Most wrestling fans don't give a healthy crap about indie wrestlers they've never seen or heard of (the multimillion dollar wwe marketing machine does wonders)
2. Lack of effective advertising and poor event promotion
3. The town of Evansville is truly dead to wrestling and cannot effectively support one fed let alone three feds

Looks like there were a good amount of no-shows on the first show. But thats just the biz huh? I wonder if the CCW critics will do the same for VIP. From readinf the results, it doesn't look like that great of a show. Chuck and Drake worth seeing. Not sure about the rest. To bad.

Who no showed? Axis and OMG were injured. Phoenix and DaCobra didnt show up. Wow, two guys. Really? Drake and Chuck was better anything any other promotion has had in Evansville since Claudio vs Quack. This show was the best wrestling show i have seen since IWA ran here. Zero G vs Full Throttle was the match of the night. Im guessing you dont even know half the names on the card. I think we all know, especially on this board, you cant talk crap unless you come and see the talent for yourself. Lack of crowd? 96 paid fans is pretty solid if you ask me. Especially for a first time show. Just wait until next month when Davey Richards takes on Ego. To bad you werent there, u missed actual wrestling.

Its late and i was going to wait til tommorow, but the hell with it. The show was off the charts so i figured i would go ahead and do my review tonight. Here we go.....
JP/Brubaker - Perfect way to open the show. Brubaker did a great job of working the crowd. JP of course was over with the Evansville fans. I was impressed right off the bat on how hot the crowd was. Great back and forth action and JP ended up with the W.
Danger/Hunk- When i first saw Danger i thought he was a lot out of shape. Once the action started i was impressed with him. He is a powerhouse. Hunk has really slimmed down. The match was short and sweet and to the point. Hunk it a Canadian Distroyer out of no where, much to the delight of oboy Luke who totally marked out for the move. Love it.
Justin Andrews/Tony Kozina- Tony is the man. Id heard he actually helped train ROH superstar Davey Richards. It showed. He was a fireplug out there. Tons of flips and take overs from him to start. Andrews used his manager to get the upper hand. In the end Rush held Andrews hands for the pin and Nate the ref didnt see it. Dirty victory.
Mitch/Superstar/?- No one seems to know the mystery mans name. The match was short, sweet and to the point. Superstar got the pinfall by grabbing the tights. Mitch tweaked his knee and was on the outside, so he was unable to interfere.
Mia/MsChif- Id be lying if i said i wasnt a little disapointed in this one. MsChif rules, but i agree with the others that said Mia just didnt seem that into the action. Cant wait to see the female NWA Champion, MsChif again next month.
Shank/Rico-WOW. This is where the show really to a step up to the next level. I loved the clash of styles. Power vs Speed. Shank is a BEAST. A few things stood out in this one. Shank is STIFF! Man those stomps to Rico's ribs were brutal! Rico has got to be one the the best high flyers there is. The spot where he ran up the turnbuckle, backfliped and then pele kicked Shank was the best spot in the match. He also had a killer standing moonsault and flip dive to the outside. In the end to two brawled around ringside until the ref got to 9. At that point Rico delivered a kick to the back of Shanks head, knocking him to the floor. Rico entered the ring and beat Shank by countout. Shanks tantrum at the end of the match was GREAT.
Full Throttle/Zero G - If there was no other matches on the card aside from this one, it would still be worth buying the DVD for. The action was so intense and fast paced i couldnt even keep up! Both teams are spectacular and should be brought back for sure. Full Throttle is some hard hitting mofos. Zero G are some arial acrobats. Esparza told us before the match, get ready to see something amazing. He wasnt lying. I love the spot in the match where Marino was on the top rope and Esparza ran up the turnbuckle, kicking Marino in the head, while moonsaulting behind the other member of Full Throttle. Insane. Then the finnish was even better. Saw one member of Zero G try an off the top rope cross body, but was caught by Scott on his shoulders. Scott then flipped him up in the electric chair position and Marino lept off the other turnbuckle, doing a doomsday bulldog. Sic, just plain sic. The intensity these guys showed drew TWO VIP chants from the crowd. Hats off to these men for giving me my moneys worth 10 times over!
Drake/Chuck- I could have went home after the prior match and been happy, but we still had Chuck and Drake to go. Chuck enters and starts scaring kids. That stuff is classic and the crowd ate it up. Drake was the most over person on the show. The main event was flawless. These two kids have came such a long way in a very short time. It was nothing short of spectacualr. The finnish saw Rush throw Chuck a chain, but Drake got the rollup for the 1-2-3. Chuck tried to frame Drake for using the chain. While the two argued back and forth, Shank came in and attacked Drake from behind. The beatdown was on until Hunk, Rico and company made the save. Id love to see Drake vs Shank next month. That would be one hell of a hard hitting matchup.
What a great night of WRESTLING. Believe it or not we got more wrestling than standing around. What a novel concept on a WRESTLING show. Anyone who didnt get to attend, i highly recomend pickin up the DVD just to see that tag match. Hats off to Walt. All the haters said no one would show up, but all of the main card was there and there were 96 paid fans. Its only gonna get bigger and better from here. Heres what id like to see next month.... Ego vs Davey Richards Mustafa Ali vs Jason Haydes Shank vs Drake JP Lightning vs Chuck Taylor MsChif vs Naveah
May 23rd cant get here quick enough!

Lash Gibson was the third opponent in the three way match
I first seen Ricochet with the short hair since February of last year "I didn't reconize him until the IPW ring announcer that night announced him"

Why so defensive and why the name calling?
This show was for a wrestling fan. With 96 paid fans it looks like VIP is on NFW level. However I am positive NFW will draw more than 96.
Why was the CCW champion working a VIP show? If he is hurt like suggested then doesn't that hinder his ability to defend CCW title against Hammerjack Wednesday? Also I've heard he has a series of matches coming up in CCW against a former TNA champion.

Even if NFW has more than 96, i saw the flyer, there isnt a prair it will top the show last night. Im disapointed that there wasnt more people for sure, but then again there wasnt all local talent on the roster to bring all their friends and family either. 96 is more than solid for your first ever show and im confident the product will grow. There were some CCW faithful in the crowd, but for the most part there was a solid college crowd. Im postitve that they enjoyed the action and should return to see an even more star studded event next month. You are not a fan of wrestling if you didnt enjoy this show. As for Mitch working this event, its the indys. Its not like its a battle between CCW and VIP. Wrestlers and fans alike can go to both events and everyone stays happy. CCW willl go on this week witout a hitch, Mitch isnt injured.

Blind hatred of anything not ccw on here is ridiculous. The show looks awesome on paper and was even better live. DaCobra didn't show up because his home fed pulled some shady stuff and moved their show later so he couldn't come to VIP. Not DaCobra's fault, but he's so excited to work for them he dropped their belt and quit the company so he could come down here.
96 is by no means low attendance. CCW is just now getting above that, and 96 is paid and not mostly free like CCW. That's excellant for a first show.
Pull your heads out of your asses and just enjoy wrestling for once.

"CCW is just now getting above that, and 96 is paid and not mostly free like CCW."
It is apparent CCW doesnt like to disclose all of the attendance records for the show. The Weds. show after the Anniversary show only pulled in around 30 ppl. Doesn't look like they have all kinks worked out of this "storyline bringing fans in" thing. Not hating just stating.

There really is no reason to make this a CCW vs VIP thread again. CCW is what it is and VIP is what it is. At the moment VIP is bringin in a lot of big name guys and in turn, is putting on much more watchable shows. At the same time, CCW is working on a much smaller budget. The way things are looking, as i have stated in the past.....it just may be impossible to bring multiple big names into Evansville. I hope in wrong. I think next month will tell the tell. If the attendence at VIP grows by about 40 or so, i think that will show the kind of growth needed to keep the promotion booking top name talent, but it cant afford to stay between 90-100 people. Unless of course they can find a way to market those DVD;s. I know a lot of local fans will buy them, but you need a way to market them to the internet as well. IWA has never drawn a huge crowd, but remain one of the US's biggest and best indy promotions by marketing that to the world on smartmarkvideo.com. I know i will keep supporting it though because of the quality of the show. I dont care if CCW puts 500 people in the seats or 10 personally, as long as im not one of them, it doesnt really concern me. If CCW was to put Chuck vs Drake in the main event, my azz will be right there in the front row. So im tired of the VIP vs CCW debate. Lets try not to beat that dead horse again.

Niether of the three promotions in Evansville could draw three shows in 10 days. Not possible in this economy. CCW can live with 165+ then being down 4 days later.

If you had 165 paying fans i could see your arguement. Im sorry to hear, that you did not. You should spend more time answering questions on the CCW board about Charlie Lowe rather than talking attendance.
