First of all I would like to thank everybody for not calling out my Illinois math skills. I pretty much said 20 people brought in $80.00 and should be $ 160.00 sorry about that.
I honestly have nothing against Brian Acker. The times I have talked to him he has come across as a decent guy. Mark is a different story but I Will not call him names nor will I call out anybody who does. I would love to have Mark come on here and explain his action.
What a way to drive another nail in your sons legacy Mark. The only way I see to run the coliseum is to go over Marks head and also not to run under the CCW banner. I guess we should all be quiet be fore he bans us from the coliseum.
Cavedweller the show next week in Olney is not by IWAU but IWA PRODUCTION and will run at the Holiday hotel.

It always amazes me how a podunk town like Olney, IL can run so many wrestling shows. Even a show that features 1980's WWF has-beens looks more entertaining then anything we can get here in Evansville.

i can promise you all one thing is that it was not a money thing there is much more to it than meets the eyes they ran awesome shows at ccw and had plans to keep doing it so for all you out there the cosbys did not quite because of money it was simple the ackers

The money issue was told to my source by Sam himself. Was this the big issue that broke the camels back all signs point to no,but it was an issue or excuse to leave. I hope Sam does run somewhere else because I would go as in the past I would not have.
My only concern with Sam running the a show is cost. You half to pay for a building or do like ASWF did down in Arkansas and by a building,Insurance is another concern plus other concerns. Does anybody know what they use the old armory building for behind U of E or maybe North High Schools old gym.

the money issue not the problem.... didnt do it to make money , knew it wasnt going to be making money but it was finally at a break even point even with the Great Talent that was brought in ! Seems others were getting jealous and wanting to be involved with running the shows again once the attendance picked up . Seems like when the crowds are up the Ackers are in ....crowds down Ackers out ! SAD !

Seems like when the crowds are up the Ackers are in ....crowds down Ackers out ! SAD ! I'm far from "in the know" on any of this, but this sure seems plausible since it always seems as though every time CCW gets a good thing going, something ruins it and we go all the way back to square one. Given what little I know about Sam Cosby, but given the talent he was bringing in to CCW, I'd support him running his own shows, if it were possible. As for the North High gym, right now, North (my former school...or as I always called it, the worst 4 years of my life!) hasn't moved to the new school yet. This is their last school year before they move, I believe. The only part of the new school that's open is the Jr. High. As for the old armory, I always wondered what was the purpose of even keeping that building since it seems as though nothing at all ever happens there. I drove down to there once and it looked as though they had the whole perimeter of the building roped off. So, the whole place might not even be safe to go into. Course, considering some of the run-down places I've gone to attend other shows *COUGH*IWA:MS*COUGH*, I can't imagine it being THAT bad.

I choose last night to attend CCW show and surprise it was not all that bad. Match 1- Sean Biggerstaff (W) vs. Austin Cage Match 2- Smokey C (W) vs. Evan Acid Match 3- The Vanzants vs Mitch Rider and ?? The Vanzants are out of XCW and are a decent looking tag team. Mitch Rider tag team turned out to be surprise, Necro Butcher. Double count out was the finish. My understanding was Necro was just passing by. Match 4- CCW Title Match Micas Silva (W) VS Lonestar Micas won the title on a count out.The count out victory was okay ed because neither was champion. Match 5- Hardcore Dog Collar Match / J-Boy vs Alister Fear (W) Pretty decent match lots of good chain shots. I also heard Sam showed up at a local bar that allot of the wrestlers and fans go to after the show and he berated some of the fans. Plus he has been pulling the old two face act by telling some people one thing and others another.

Dear coliseumwrestler first of all thank you for the compliment. I did not say this happen this past Wed. This happen a week ago from this past Wed. As for the 2 face comment that came from some of the folks who where there. As for Sam I personally have nothing against him and feel he is entitled to do what he wishes with his time and money. I would like for him to come on here and explain his side. I am not a Acker backer nor a Sam Backer but a Smart Mark who wants to see the best wrestle show possible in Evansville by using the best talent available. Sam was able to deliver such talent. I hope Sam will run shows again. Understand I do not post something unless I feel my sources are correct and have had contact with the individual. I also understand some times things get blow out of proportion when talking to people. When I do post I love to have somebody give their side or defend their position. So I thank you Sam's wife for defending your husband and as for contacting your husband I would rather him come on here and explain too all of us his side of why he left then there is no he said she said.

Thanks for posting the results from Wed., Storm. I was wondering what went down this week. Those matches don't exactly look completely horrible, but still, there's nothing that even compares to the shows we were getting a month ago. To be honest, that card looks pretty much the same as what CCW was in the pre-Sam days. It's sad, but at least now I know my Wed. nights are going to be free until something else happens.
As for the other stuff, I have no idea about any of that. But, I will say that the term "Acker backer" made me chuckle! Ha ha!!

I think "Sam"(i dont know anything about these people so thats why i put the quotes up) had the perfect marriage when it comes to running a wrestling show in Evansville. Maybe not in the sense of having to deal with the Ackers because we all know there is nothing perfect about that marriage, but in the $$ sense. A few things i have learned over the years about CCW.......
1. People will show up and watch shows there if you put retard midgets in there. Maybe not a ton, but you are pretty much assured to have 20-30 hardcore CCW fans every single week. This doesnt really apply anywhere else.
2. The overhead to run shows at CCW is a hell of a lot cheaper than it is to go out on your own. So much cost goes into running a show on your own, and thats before you even pay the talent. You need a bulding, ring, and insurance. So before you even book 1 wrestler, your already looking at between 600-800 bucks. There is no way your coming close to making that back on the door. Unless of course you book washed up has been USWA guys, then you may. SEE VIP. Brought in the best indy workers around a few times and lost their asses. Great shows, but the overhead was insane.
3. CCW are like the roaches of pro wrestling. They could be around to the end of time if they choose. The Ackers could just book a bunch of yarders and make straight profit.......if the choose too. Hell, im pretty sure ive seen that era before. When you dont have to pay any overhead, there is no reason not to run a show.
Im all for the Cosbys running more wrestling shows in the area. That being said, it wont be successful. Not with the kind of talent they like to book. Dont get me wrong, because the talent they like, seems to be the talent i like. However, Evansville just wont take to it. If they are going to dabble into running more shows, it should def not be weekly and if im them, just for advertising purposes, id always have a washed up has been to promote. Maybe a monthly or bi weekly show could survive. But its def not as easy as simply booking guys at CCW.

Ike Really good food for thought.I will say even though I attend CCW on a biweekly bases I do not consider my self loyal to them or any other promotion. I would love to see the Cosby's run the Armory once a month but I do not think hardcore would be allowed there. The last show I attended there the promotion got in trouble for picking up the chair.
As for calling Sam I have asked on the message board for him and Mark both to come on here and give their side and I will leave it at that. As for the marriage being over it would be best to reconcile but I hear ed their is a bitter custody dispute over who gets Dr. Blue.
